Ryaano's Lucid Z Progression Thread
This is my first show off for the Z so let me introduce myself. My name is Ryan and I reside in Houston, TX. I picked up the Z in November of 2011 so only had for a few months. I am far from a noob at modding since ive been working in and out of garages for several years but finally settled down in an office career until i finish college. Mods are coming slow since im making payments and paying for school and yada yada yada lets move on to the pics.
NEW WHEELS ON PAGE 5!!
Its a 2006 MT Interlagos Fire Metallic 350z Touring, wasnt a fan of the color but with the low miles i just couldnt pass up!
When i first brought the Z home from the Dealership, i had it towed since i didnt want anyone else to drive
By the end of the week i made my first purchase of beginning mods such as intake, hood dampers, nismo shift ****, and mishimoto diversion panel
My next step was that i needed to get rid of the 4x4 height and get some springs, i wouldve opted for coilover but i have other mods planned before i go that route. Also went with SPC rear camber kit, front kit will come whenever i put on the wheels
Next was a little audio setup, nothing crazy but just 2 10s in a plain jain z box wrapped in black carpet. (no pic) mounted the amp in glove box behind passenger seat, oh and all kenwood, cheap and effective!
Next step was to put a double din screen, and my number one choice was pioneer, but my dumbass let the screen drop on the shift know
so.... sold that and kept the bose stereo for now. You can see the scratch on the right side of the screen in the middle
so with that headache out of the way since it took me 3 weeks to find a buyer for the screen i could move on to bigger things!
Christmas time and ordered myself a present!!!
Motordyne plenum spacer/ mrev2/ ART pipes/ and TDX V2 exhaust!!!
Got it installed 2 days later
Next up was a little cleaning of the engine bay, since im used to the honda world where wire tucks are the creme de la creme i had to apply it to the Z!
Started by removing both upper and lower plenums and "tucking" the wires,
worked late into the night, but thank goodness this isnt my daily so i could take my time with it!!
Finished Pic with Rare JDM wire cover
Where it sits now

Thanks for the kind words guys! As far as the color, I really didn't like it at first but it grew on me after washing it for the first time lol
Tonight is another step, removing visors and headliner to be dropped off for wrapping in black suede on Saturday!! Gonna do my interior first then next step is wheels!
Teaser pics of what I'm doing to the interior will be up by next week when I get the first shipment!!!

headliner and visors are out!! taped up the visors so i can paint the plastics black, and the headliner is going in tomorrow to be upholstered!! so excited
this is just one more step closer to having my interior complete.
still waiting to get some tracking info so i can proceed with phase 2 and 3 of the interior!
I know some of you guys would worry about wheels first, but im very big on interior since thats all you see when you're driving the car. stay tuned!!

Finally its done!!! But for some reason i wasnt as happy after it was all finished, dont get me wrong the guy did a great job wrapping the headliner, but when i look at it doesnt seem like i did anything. It looks as though that i bought the car like that lol oh well heres the pics
Visors painted, i know its a cheap shortcut but i have yet to see any nicely wrapped visors and i didnt want to take the chance of paying to get them wrapped and me being **** about it.
Interior pieces all painted
and the finished product!
Now that is out of the way i can move on with the second phase

more pics on the headliner? what kind of suede is that? and what kind of paint did you use?
sorry, I'm getting ready to do mine and I didn't know if the faux suede was worth it or not.
