Yellow raised letter....
Tires are like new, nearly no miles on them. I wiped them clean. Is there a good cleaner to use?
I think a sharpie that is not white may be the winning solution. Silver....

Clean my tire with soap/water really good... 3 to 4 passes, only the letters not the whole tire.
Then use rubbing alcohol and go another 3 to 4 passes.

BTW, I have seen Stogey's car in person and the tires look amazing!

If you do, please post pictures (probably in your own thread).
Not that I'd want to do it for my car since I'm about to store it for the winter, but I'd definitely like to see how it looks.

This thread applies to anyone who did the raised letter mod er color. Whether if it's yellow or red, white, blue... post pix up and let the raised letter rise lol.
Thanks for sharing br0!
Yep, the owner of that Z posted in the white raised letter. They are tire patch kit iirc. I asked him where to buy and if they have yellow? Couldn't find the link, gave up so I went with the sharpie markers

giving mine a second shot.
Cleaning, drying and doing it on a flat surface.
Appears my tire still had mold release or mounting lube all over the sidewall. May have been part of my problem.

EDIT: and if the second time doesn't work, try sharpie (silver) before giving up completely.

Ok, I gave this a try today and it does take quite a while, lol. It took me almost 2 hours to color in the logo and brand, so I wasn't about to spend another 2 doing the tire name. And, that's not counting taking off the wheels, cleaning them, and putting them back on.
For me, it was between white, yellow, orange, gold, and yellow. I chose to do mine in orange this time around since nobody's done that color yet and Hankook's logo color is orange. I couldn't find an orange sharpie anywhere, though, so I just bought some other paint pen from WalMart for half the price.
I'd like to keep changing colors, however, if I do this again so I'll probably pick a different color next time. Or, I might just do it like the 3rd pic.

I went looking for paint pen at Wally world but didn't see any. I went to the arts/craft/fabric section... which section did you go?
How many coats did you do?
It should last a good while cause mine is going on 4 weeks (not daily driven) now and it still looks good. Unless you go up close, you won't see the scuff marks.

LOL, I definitely underestimated the amount of work. I'll get a few more pics up from a distance when the sun is out tomorrow.
I found like 20 different colored paint pens at the crafts section, by the school and art supply, for about $2.50 each.
I doubt this will last as long as the Sharpie brand, as it seemed to rub off way too easily when applied onto a smooth tire surface (at least when wet). Fortunately, my tires have the lettering slightly recessed in with stripes in the letters. So, I couldn't really do "coats," and instead just "colored in" between the stripes in the letters until they all looked even.
I think I'm going to color-code my tires like Pirelli once I get a hold of extra sets again:

I had white letters on my drag tires back when I drag raced a lot and it gets dirty real quick, then it just looks nasty. That's why I stayed away from white this time, because I didn't want to keep touching it up to make it look decent. I still like Hankook's logo colors, though.
