Man I hate looking back through this thread, but I LOVE what the Nismo has to offer.

The Nismo is a out of the box track(autox) car. My first event went horribly wrong with blown OEM shock/struts. I really wanted to drive the Nismo stock suspension with my Quaife Diff, sways and enkeis(re71). So I needed to rush and just throw on my KW clubsports.(well rush with procrastination and busy with business.) I just literally threw the kw on no alignment no steering wheel straightening (aggravates the shat out of me).

I wanted to drive the car as stock as possible so I can learn on a clean platform and find my mistakes and become a better driver. I truly loved my old Z but this is lightyears beyond the 03 turbo.

So GulfCoastAutocross held the Florida state championships this year. They hold it every 5 years. This was my first stat championship event. Still being a novice almost a full year of competition days I was happy with the outcome. I ended up finishing second place to a Honda 2000... on dead hoosiers. For some odd reason all drivers had dead or almost dead tires in the group. A fellow nisbrah Jorge roca(previos state champion) and Ian (ian99rt) and then the 2000 ahha(super chill nice guy). I ended up finishing .012 behind the 2000. Nothing to be upset about but I should not had had breakfast and could have made up .013 hahaha. It was the closest group of all groups.

Hind sight I wish I setup my suspension and could have made up .013. But mama always said dont should on yourself Chris! haha

New season starts January and I will be ready. I plan to take her to a few national events to get my a$$ handed to me and set me in my spot on how well I am progressing.

I will update with some vids and pics. I understand threads are useless with out pics

Chris

That's awesome news that you were able to come that close to the 2000. Those cars are fantastic.

Sounds like your progression as a driver is coming along quite nicely. Are you planning on doing any HPDEs or is your focus more on autox?

Must be a joy to be in the company of such close Z competition !

What's the next plans mod wise?

Wish you best of luck on your future events/autoX.

She loves to pull the Z. I am trying to plan a track day. What groups are you doing lately?

I am planning some HPDE groups. I still have things to learn.

Thanks. I plan on setting up the suspension and thats about it. Some minor things like oil cooler, oil changes and maybe some stickyicky tires(hoosiers). But lets see. I really want to Keep it Simple Stupid(KISS). It is so nice to gas, oil and go.

Here are some photos. Ive been lacking here. I have Video but please excuse my **** poor mount that I did not tighten down before going out. Blend mount is great. User is not great. I also did a shat job syncing the vid to Solo Storm data logger. So I am not going 54 in grid....

Could this be my .012?? One is to be a lay down and one to be standing...(If my side A was not "good" to me I would have stopped and received a re-run) But my luck and lack of confidence/skill would have messed something up... You will see in the vid plenty of spots for .012...

Some Advan goodness. I do miss my advans. A bud runs 18x9 square with same size tires. Let me rent/borrow for 1 day.

It doesn't help that much. Just makes you more of a refined kinda guy haha. They just say take a break then when its time to buy you have more moola and then you buy better more expensive parts... hahaha And you see more shoe charges on your card. Happy wife happy life
