Quick question. I got the 4.08 gears now and vlsd will be installing them in January. Did you need the install kit from z1. Also I read somewhere that I will need shims. http://www.z1motorsports.com/350_g35...oducts_id=4523

Okay thanks guys. So I should jus let my installer get the shims as I don't know which would fit. Oh so am guessing that kit from z1 isn't a complete must have for the install. It's just good to have it.
I don't know how many miles that you have on the car; I only had about 28K when I did my 3.9 fd install, but I ordered completely new sets of bearings also, adds a few hundred $ to it all, but good time to take advantage of that just to have all new parts, however my stock bearings looked completely fine and still have in my "stash" so that's up to you if you want to order the bearings also; you can see them in my first pic in one of my posts in HR section of forum called "a little introduction to ya all" or something. The reason they don't give you shims in the kits is because they would just be guessing with the sizes (look like big washers) and may not be useable on one car or another.

Installed the sways and coilovers yesterday. Fronts about perfect. May raise it a hair idk yet. Rears I am going to have to figure out something to lower it more. They're maxed out and that's as low as it goes in the rear... The fronts could go another 1" or so.
