Come out this weekend! Heck, there was a pickup truck that ran the course last month! I have seen four-door sedans, station wagons and SUVs also. If they can do it, you can certainly do it on a 350Z!
Even if you do decide not to drive, you can hitch a ride with any of the more experienced drivers so you can get a feel of how it's like on the auto-x course. Show up early to get an idea on what the drivers do to prep their cars for the auto-x. It'll also give you an opportunity to walk the course with the novice instructor (Kevin) so you'll understand what you need to do at certain points on the course.
I will be there around 8am in my Silverstone Z. Let's lineup together and I'll be glad to assist anyone on prepping their Z and give you advise when we walk the course. I guarantee you one thing -- you'll have a blast running the course and seeing the various cars out there. It's almost like a car meet but you'll get to display your driving skills and the capabilities of your ride.
NOTE: For anyone showing up this weekend, make sure you bring chairs, umbrellas, food/snacks, and drinks (no alcoholic beverages). You will not have time to go anywhere so I normally bring sandwiches & beverages for lunch. Also, make sure you bring a digital camera and get some pics taken of you running the course.

Your "best" time was better than the Mini Pooper's best time but in three of the runs (1st, 2nd & 4th), his times were better. Anyway, the PAX index really screws it up. I have better raw times than Jason in all six runs but he ended up in 2nd place and I'm in 5th. That's because he is in BS (stock) and we're both BSP (Street Prepared), and the PAX index eliminates all handicaps & levels the playing field.

yeah it's bs lol oh well, I'm gonna go ahead and turbo or v8(depending on how the LSX swap goes) my Z. Then I will be competing with the RX-7 and really get killed. I want to goto a road course though, I hope that they hurry with the San Marcos road course.

Sweet~ ya come out to the next one! if im right its april 15th at the same place...
From what i understand the PAX is a bias factor....if your in a highly moddified Z or any car for that matter......... but your a novice driver then there is a multiplier that is given to help level the field.......its common on the NOVICE group because most Novice guys will have a wide range of cars!
I dont think ill be taking the novice level too seriously other than to learn how to autoX from those that have been doing it for a long time! I was really happy to have Kevin (novice chairman) ride with me and the little tid bits of advice he gave me helped me throughout the day!
I will soon have some good street rubber on my extra set of wheels and i have coilovers, tie rods, camber arms, etc going on my car in a few months. so that alone is gonna bump me up to different class with a different pax factor......
what i dont understand is when someone in a highly modded car complains when he looses to someone in a stocker miata?! obviously at a novice level you have a better driver in the miata! my .02 cents? from what i see the pax factor seems to be somewhat fair....
