I'll be brief for now, as it's getting late and not everything is set in stone.
Jotech has agreed to sponsor this event. The admission for the first 20 racers to show up at Jotech will be paid for. There will also be prizes and a ranking system divided into 2 categories (NA and FI). This event is strictly a "Race what you brung" event. The cars/racers Jotech agreed to sponsor are as follows: 350Z, G35, S2000, ......and Mackie (lucky you).
I will update as more details are worked out. Clear your schedules for that date now, as you won't want to miss out on this one. Be sure to thank Tony and Kenny at Jotech.
What: Drag Racing for All
When: August 10th, 2007 (Friday)
Where: Texas Motorplex at Ennis
Time: gates open @ 6, race starts @ 7
Meet up: be at Jotech (click for directions) @ 5:30pm
Price: $15 to race, $12 to cheerlead, free for first 20 racers to show up at Jotech
edit-
Your other incentives
:
- All participating racers will get a Jotech shirt.
(If I think of some other items we can get, I'll ask for those too)
- Prizes for 1st place winners in each category - FI & All Motor (prizes tbd, but expect something good
)
- 2nd and 3rd places may also get prizes (depends on number of participants)
Some rules to keep in mind:
- Wear long pants; no shorts allowed
- You need to wear shoes that cover your whole feet
- Helmets are required for those that make a pass <14 seconds regardless of trap speed
Some things to keep in mind:
- Bring some money, as you'll get thirsty and hungry at the track
- Less weight = good = faster ET (so no need for stereo system, spare, etc)
- Find out what works for you and be consistent
- This tournament is accounts for your RT as well, so don't fall asleep at the tree
Below are the results from all participating racers. Great job, guys.

No, it won't be a bracket race as nobody will know how to dial in or anything of that sort. RT really doesn't matter unless you're bracket racing or going heads up. It'll be based on the best ET of the day.
Dang it would be cool to just drag based on who gets to the end first. Then guys like me would have a chance. I guess you win then.
edit: n/m i saw that they are dividing the F/I and N/A cars.

We'll see who wins, Jason. I might let you compete in the NA category.

And as far as slicks and fairness goes, then I can say the same about number of mods since I have less mods than most other Zs. Jotech and I are currently in the process of getting the details ironed out. But at any rate, it'll be a "race what you brung" event.

Thanks Chris for working with me on this. I hope you all can make it out and support our Z community including those that used to have Z's are always welcomed. Please feel free to post any questions in regards to Drag day.
