For those very few who may be interested, the closest 1/4 mile drag strip near DFW will be open this February. A few people asked about this, so I'm posting with info.

Track: TEXAS MOTORPLEX
Place: Ennis, TX
Dates: Feb. 9th, 16th, 23rd (all Saturdays)
Time: Gates open at 11am, race from 12pm-6pm

We're meeting up at Starbucks on 75 and Campbell Rd (exit 26) for the caravan down to the track by 9:45 am and leaving at 10:00 am sharp!

Basic NHRA rules that apply to us:
- helmet is required for any ET faster than 14 seconds
- closed toe shoes required to race
- long pants is a must
- need a shirt with sleeves

Yeah chris I talked to you earlier about this glad you posted it up, who all wants to go down on the 9th? I might have a track day on the 16th, so the 9th would be best for me. Im hoping for mid 12s with my current setup.

Not a problem we always meet up some where and drive down as a group. We will post up the meeting spot.

 

I'm still tentative, but you guys know how I am with drag racing.

My car's isn't at its optimum shape, so hopefully I can get all that **** fixed soon. Given everything is great, I'll be there.

So I am sure you have taken off from a light and WOT and gone through couple of gears right? Same thing just the lights are in the middle of the lanes. AND it is legal. Where else are you going to go 0-100+ over and over again.

It is only 15 bucks to race so why not!

 

I want to try but I am tentative (aka pu$$y). I guess if I go early enough there won't be that many people to embarass myself in front of....

 

You wont embarass yourself...youll probably run in the 14s like most Z owners

i need to borrow some drag radials. wait... i have my stockers... hrmm... oh, saturdays arent usually that busy so you should be able to get a lot of runs in.
