Here's a typical schedule of events:

Setup starts at 7:00 AM
Registration opens at 7:30 AM
Late registration begins at 8:30 AM (additional $10)
Registration CLOSES at 9:00 AM
Novice Walkthrough at 9:10 AM
Driver's meeting at 9:30 AM
First Car out at 10:00 AM

They normally setup two run groups: while one group is driving, the other group is working the course. Then they switch. The breakdown on the run groups is announced during the driver's meeting.

There is no charge to be a spectator. A good time to showup is around 8am so you can walk around and checkout the cars being setup.


YEA SO IM GOING TO TAKE THE Z TO ITS AND MY FIRST AUTOCROSS EVENT THIS SUNDAY JANUARY 18 HERE IN SAN ANTONIO,TX AT THE AT&T CENTER.
I WAS WONDERING IF ANY OTHER Z'S WERE PLANNING ON GOING, MY COUSIN IS ALSO GONNA TAKE HIS Z OUT THERE TO TO TRY IT OUT. LMK MAYBE WE CAN GET A GROUP TOGETHER TO GO OUT THERE!!

I suggest you pre-register for this event & make sure you tech your car before Sunday.

where do i register my friend was gonna tell me where tomorrow but if you know lmk or give me the link and its kool i take very well care of my z my dads own a mechanic shop so during work saturday ill check over everything!!

 

give me some tips man i know u prolly know ur stuff about autocross !!

 

^ im not as good as ed (Z-U-later).......so definitely ride with him when you can...

but i say - look where you want to go, not where your at....always look ahead......

if your not on the gas, your on the brake........

Post questions if you have any, or come see me early in the morning during setup. They have a tech station where you need to take your car to get checked. Check your fluids, make sure you have at least 1/2 tank of gas, & remove your spare tire & any other junk in the hatch. Also, I can help you out on tips when walking the course once it's setup.

JasonZ-YA is a good friend & a good auto-x driver. He just likes to drift once-in-a-while . . .

 

What time is this event at?

 

 

how long do these events last? i've wanted to check one out but know for a fact i would not wake up by 8am

 

We're there all day. We usually run in the morning to about 1pm, have lunch for an hour, and start again around 2pm. We get done around 4pm or so.

If you're not an early morning riser, get there around noon or so, and still see most of the action. Bring a camera -- there are usually a lot of cool (& fast) cars out there.

For those driving, make sure you bring your POI (proof of insurance). It's required to be able to register & drive.

Lastly, bring a tent (if you can't, umbrella is fine), chairs, and water (no alcoholic beverages allowed).

aahhh....my hands are quivering....im gonna have to make it down to SA one of the weekends of an event just for old times sake!

Man i had sooooooo much fun at the autocross, very exciting and meet alot of nice people. The track had a great set-up and pretty fast too. I am going back forsure thanks to ed z-u-later for the helpful tips he gave me, they helped my runs improve well. I think i found a new car sport ill stick too lol!!

My best time was .46sec around the track.

 

Hey Dex, Glad you enjoyed your first autocross! Now if you read back the tips on the two links I previously posted, most of them will make sense to you now. If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to PM me. The more Zs we have coming out, the better. I usually have the only Z out there and always get outnumbered by STIs & S2Ks as you can see today.
