Texas Z Party!!! (June 19th - 21st)
#61
General admission at the door is going to be a bit more and they are not sure about the food count so singing up is better.
Only the people tracking their cars need to return the forms.
the show is just peoples choice, so its going to be a relaxed atmosphere.

check list for the guys that will hit the track for the first time:
(I'm annoying but better be safe than sorry)
1) brake pads: new or almost new. if you are 50% or so.. bring another set if you can. just in case.
2) brake fluid: be sure it's in good condition, close to the max mark.
3) radiator fluid: close to the max mark
4) power steering fluid: guess what... close to the max mark
5) engine oil: at the max mark.
6) tire pressure as specified from the factory: 35 psi (for street tires)
7) a hat (a full day it's damn hot)
8) if you have it.. a cooler box full of ice.
9) sunscreen.
10) a good attitude and if you see me in your mirror.. get the hell out of there
for what I understood water will distributed at the party but, if you have the cooler box.. put few bottles of gatorade or something like that (avoid caffeine/taurine energy drinks) because in this heat and driving with open windows and without air conditioning (yes, without air conditioning.. could overheat your engine) the risk of dehidratation is quite high... drink A LOT.

Unless this unlucky Irish Z owner has a stint of good luck... Looks like I'll be racing on the heavy 19" WORK Meisters w/ KDW tires. Called Enkei (GREAT & helpful people) and was told they only have one 18x9.5 +15 in stock and are back ordered another month. Hopefully Gruppe-S has one in stock and I can have both by Thursday/Friday. (Crossing my fingers.)

btw.. seriously.. bring ice, water and some vitamins. if the temperatures are going to stay like now over 95... you'll need a lot.
drink few minutes before getting to the track and drink later.
20/25 minutes into a hot car, with the stress of being on a racetrack (listen NOOBS) could be a damn good workout.
think about running at a sustained pace for 25 minutes and put in the middle few adrenaline shots.
the adrenaline won't allow you to feel fatigue and the excitement will do the rest of the job... and suddenly your vision is not going to be sharp and your coordination is going to be awful... you don't want that to happen approaching a turn at 100 mph. really.
check the color of your pee and keep it on the clear side. if it's getting darker than usual.. DRINK, wait a little and DRINK AGAIN.
as personal note... in a day on the track during the summer I usually drink 1/4 to 1/2 gallon of gatorade and 1/2 to 1 gallon of water plus a couple of pills of centrum.. one in the morning and one later in the afternoon.

well... I went to enough event in the last 15 years to know what is the danger out there.
and it's funny... we all perform a strict maintenance on the cars, we have the massive check list to be sure that the car is going to perform at her best... than, one of the biggest mistake, is forgetting about the driver.

water wetter, 600 degree brake fluid, and extra parts like plugs, clamps (for those that are boosted), silicon line, fluids, etc...all good things to have if you're racing.
Only a few days away. look forward to tearing up the track with you clowns.
RK, you'll like those KDWs on the track from what I've heard. They slide, but they are very predictable. One of my favorite tires on the street. I have 6 KDWs in the garage

I don't think so.. but jeans (or anything not flammable) and closed shoes are.
oldschool.. don't forget spare brake pads and spare rotors... you boosted guys are going to use the brakes.
never been there, but according to R-factor there is one brutal braking zone and two quite long with some trail braking... I can get a speed of over 130mph with a 997 cup and brake down at 30/35... you probably will be faster. I don't think to go over 110mph with the nismo.
