You are allowed to register the day of the event -- Technically speaking......that would be by 8:30am at the latest... at that time you could only walk the course, see the layout, etc....but once racing starts, its too late to register...
All times are Approximate
Registration & Tech 7:30AM-8:30AM
However ive always seen pennington field events full and people not get to register and be on the waiting list and lose out........
I would expect this event to be the same since there is a practice event the day before.......thats more seat time and the hardcore/regulars will be there for sure...
its probably best you register and not run if you decide not to...email the scca peeps and see about refunds or transfer to next event or something???
Food for thought....

Make sure to bring folding chairs and you can chill in the shade in my canopy tent.
Same for everyone else going....
Good idea to bring
1. Water
2. Sunblock
3. Folding chair
4. Pack lunch - but McDonalds/subway/etc are near by so not required.
5. Comfortable Tennis shoes.
6. Sunglasses
7. Gloves
8. I'll be bringing tools, but a light tool box would be handy.
9. Hat - you need a hat or bring an umbrella!!

Another thing:
Everyone that Drives - also works the course!
during registration it will ask you for work assginment...thats a guessing game, they will put you where ever they decide......the guys that run these events are ******.......anyways, we wont get into that..
SCCA events are teamwork....so, if you are driving with run group 2, then you will be standing out on the course a running to pick up any knocked down cones when the coast is clear during run group 1.......after that your free all day to watch racing during run groups 3 and 4......
thats just a sincerio, it may be:
group 1 - work
group 2 - other classification cars racing - since your not wk'n you can ask to ride with those racing this group/class.
group 3 - your class = you racing
group 4 - other classifications cars racing - you can watch/ride along more if you want or go home after your done with your run group 3, but you wont see awards, etc afterwards......
SOOO:
Plan on standing for about 1.5 hours max or so during your "work" assignment time. All of which will be explained to you during your morning sign in, prior to tech inspection of your car....so dont worry about it other than:
Bring hat, bottled water, small ice chest capable of holding 2 or 3 water bottles is good to have while standing course side. bring an umbrella even. you can not sit while working the course....

Okay,
I call it the "Tripod chair" - Z-YA designed and built!!
That being said about having to stand and work the race course..............I have made a simple one legged chair like this before.....
Pictured is not mine, but very similar.......you can go as far as padding the wood, or just folding up a towel...etc...
but your not sitting and your nearly standing, but your leaning back enough to take the load off and trust me............its nice having one made......
It's self explanitory so if you have time between now and next weekend - go to home depot and buy the 15 bucks worth of pieces and make yourself one......
home depot can cut the pipe to the length you need too.....start with a precut 36in piece then call for assistance and they will use the cutter they have their in the aisle....
I have mine ready....lol........i take it to every autoX event.......
SEE PIC...of dude sorta sitting, sorta standing...ya that could be you...
