You shouldn't have any issues. I'll see you at noon.

You haven't been the the strip enough to be tired of breaking things.

Surely, all the times I've been the track launching and making back to back passes during my ownership of the car should be a testament to how much abuse the Z can take. Don't you think if it was that fragile I would've broken it by now with over thousand passes and 102K miles on the Z?

Plus, you're going to be on street tires, which means your tires will not have enough traction for your axles to even think about breaking. Unless you do something stupid like holding WOT while wheel hopping, you won't break anything, I promise. Even if one does break, I hear they're real cheap to buy used and easy to install. Stop making up excuses and prove your dyno numbers. If you do come, my offer to let you borrow my slicks still stands.

Hey Chris,

Do we need like a fold out chair along with a small cooler when we are hanging out ?

Also, how many times do you run normally ?

^^ no need there are bleachers you can sit on when you spectate. run as many times as you want or as much as you can get in. if you feel like your car is getting slower due to heat soak let her sit for 30 minutes with the hood up and run some more.

So I had a blast at the track with 3hree5ive0ero, Stu, Justin & Christy,
and another Justin. ( I think ) If I got name wrong I apologize.

Chris I also don't recall your friends name with the Acura. Sorry, but he is a very cool dude.

So it turns out my very first run ( EVER ) seemed to be my best time of the day. ?????

I ran a 13.7 without ever running a 1/4 mile. Also mind you I have an AT !

Beginners luck ? maybe...but I think I will be able to improve on my launch times....there a pic of my last launch time at .148

The best I got after was a 13.8

I had soooo much fun out there and will be back.

Sorry for Chris that had some Clutch problems fairly early on.

I hope you got your car off the track. Let me k now how things turned out.

Wait......Chris (3hree5ive0ero) had clutch problems? That's a bummer since the clutch is brand new.

Wonder what kind of problems, or if he got it new. Aren't you suppose to have a break-in period or is it a good ol myth.

Chris lost a couple bolts that connected something. I took him to Auto Zone and we found replacement bolts. He got a few runs in after that before they closed. Q, he said his clutch doesn't need break-in because it's 6 puck.
His friend, Elvis, had the bolts loosen on his exhaust after his last run. It was a bad day for bolts.
It was fun not being the slowest there for once. I broke into the 14s, too.

When are you moving? I still haven't seen your Evo.

That's your reaction time (R/T). 60 is for the first 60 feet of the track and that's where you pulled 2.0s, which is very good.

It wasn't exactly a "clutch" problem...
Just as I completed my 4th run, still on the track about to turn to get off, I pressed the clutch to put it into neutral. That's when the clutch pedal sank and stuck to the floor. Since I couldn't get it into gear, I coasted off the track.
At first, I thought it was the old OEM clutch fluid that boiled (weird, since it's never done that before with hotlaps) so I let it cool for an hour but when I came back the pedal would still just stick to the floor. I jack the car up to see the slave cylinder just chillin on the crossmember. Apparently, I lost the bolts somewhere down the 1320. Anyway, this is the 2nd problem caused by untightened bolts (first was worse), both by the same person. Oh well, it's fixed now.

Depends on the clutch.

Thanks again for helping me out, Stu.

I'm glad so many of you guys came out. I almost always go alone so it was great to have you guys there, despite my car trouble. I know most of you enjoyed it, too.

Anyway, here's my best from today. I think the flywheel is a bit too light for my liking and the clutch is totally different from before too. I only got 3 nitrous runs in so that doesn't help. Enough excuses. The first pic is my best from my last time when my Exedy Stage 1 clutch was slipping to no end. The second pic is my best from today, so I basically tied my personal best from when the old clutch was going out. Son, I am disappoint.

You are really getting off that line! Impressive. Shows how much a quick 60ft can do. I'm trapping around 112.5 but only running 12.9's with a 2.2 60ft. Regular street tires.

Your times are great.

Everything is running fine, so I'm good. Thanks for the offer, Chris. I'm glad you had fun out there.

If you're referring to me, then I used to. With the new flywheel, I can't pull anything better than a 1.9.

Chris, are you losing bottle pressure or something? 18-19mph in the 2nd 1/8 is off quite a bit. You are 4-5mph faster than me through the 1/8, but pretty close (in terms of mph) at the big end.

I feel you in terms of the light flywheel.....the OS is only 9ish lbs and it makes getting off the line a PITA.

If you're referring to the time slips from last time, that's because I was having issues with having too little fuel (thus, engine cutting power in middle of the runs) and having to coast at the end of the pass (5th didn't go in, so coasted in 6th). That, and the clutch slipping.

If you're referring to the time slip from yesterday, that's because I had issues with the slave cylinder and wasted most of my time waiting for my imaginary boiling clutch fluid to cool down. Once I fixed my problem by bolting the cylinder back into the bell housing, I only had about 20 minutes to make a few nitrous passes before they shut down the track for the year. That's why I hotlapped 3 runs even though the bottle hadn't fully heated up yet (was spraying at almost 950 and it would drop to mid 800s toward the end of pass).

Another thing you have to consider is that when you trapped 107, that was with -1000' DA. Yesterday, the DA was 50' and the previous time was just under 900'. I usually trap around 110-111 with good bottle pressure with DA of 1650' and above. Our DA almost never dips below 0 or even gets near it, so I'm actually pretty pissed that I couldn't take advantage of the 50' DA yesterday to the point of wanting the stock flywheel back.

I was actually looking at the second pic......My fastest of the day was actually 107.8X...can't remember exactly. I was actually trapping 107 in -100' DA a few weeks prior. It seems like a couple of factors were working against you. The stock flywheel might be the way to go. Are your tracks open year round by you?
