PRE-PREP - Before leaving home
* Clean your car out thoroughly, this includes glove boxes and pockets.
* Your car will need to pass a TECH (Safety) inspection before you are allowed to compete. Your battery must be properly secured (not sliding around in its tray), all tires must have a measurable amount of tread (no cord showing) and the car can not be leaking fluids.
This is from 8-9am - DO NOT BE LATE!
* If you have a Helmet bring it. (BRING A Handkerchief since the helmets are old).
You will be in the sun/rain for the full day, so come prepared for it. Comfortable clothes and covered shoes are a must.
BRING AN UMBRELLA.
Food is usually available near the sites we frequent, however you will probably want to pack a lunch and plenty of water.
LSBMClub breaks for lunch - so you can book off and go pick up subway or something......
FAQ:
DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING SPECIAL TO MY CAR TO PARTICIPATE???
NO, stock form no mods at all all you need....like the day you bought it, with NOTHING in the car....they will make you remove everything that is loose.....
A lot of people tell me they don't wanna come because they don't have anything done to their car.........you don't need anything, just come and enjoy the car........
Blue tape is good if you wanna tape up your bumper corners to protect against hitting cones.......
Also, you can use blue tape to identify your car and classification.....I use white laminated paper and mark on it with dry erase markers. I have dry erase markers i will bring, so bring some plain paper, or go get some laminated and they will last you forever...

DO THEY HAVE A BREAK FOR LUNCH?
YES, the event shut downs for lunch for about an hour in between runs.
You have to run and go get lunch or have a lunch packed already at the site.

You drove very good today Jeremy ! Great times on stock suspension.
I need to get better tires for next time....So I will be looking for some used rims for some tires to track on.
I have a few pics to post but it will be tomorrow or later before I can get to them.
I have a video of Jason that is only thru the first 2 turns.

I am right there with you !
I DNF'd 2 of 4 runs on the first heat...then I went & DNF'd another 2 runs on the 2nd heat. Donuts FTW !
All in all a great time & experience for the first time. just like you said.....need more seat time. And also I need better tires.
I ended up running about 64.3-8's for the runs I completed
I was hoping to get in the 63's I actually ran 63.???? but I hit a cone...so I got a 64.???? Bummer.
Can't Wait for it to get back to TMS !

How did everyone do?
My fast time of the day was a 63.3 which is a little slower than I hoped but I'm still pretty happy with that. I think I started in the morning running 65's and 64's.

OH yes..........the smooth sealed asphalt was definitely a challenge.............
its a new autoX'r first thought is to try and go faster, but sliding and loosing control kills your time.......your better spent slowing down and doing a "good clean run" with no fish tailing and no errors..............
from there you can then push your car harder till you reach your tires "grip" potential...
AutoXing and car control is quite hard!!!! it takes a lot of events and a lot of practice......many of you guys saw today that your tires were not on your side.......but then some of you in general realized that tires didn't even matter because you were missing gates and going off course resulting in DNF's..............thats part of being new.........
Look not at the turn in front of you, but through your A pillars and side windows at the end of the turn TWO turns ahead.....Look not where you are, but where you need to be!
in the end, more seat time is much more crucial than tires, gears or any other mod.........the best thing you guys can do for yourselves and this sport is to come back out again!!

I actually had grip on this asphalt compared to mineral wells..

I did the same thing. Idk what it was about that turn but any touch on the throttle and my back end would fly out lol. The announcer in the van was giving me a hard time about my drifting skills at the start lol
EDIT: Oh but even with my exuberant driving I did not manage to hit any cones, spin or DNF lol. That is 2 events in a row that I haven't hit any cones.
