I started this run and then got hungry, so I thought I would take a look back and see if Chris had the hot dogs started! Honest!

^^^^^^ Too funny Scott !

I remember looking out there to see who was spinning out in the DB Z....I thought...that looks like me ! .....I know how that feels. Did it twice myself.

You must have been hungry.

I prefer this way. It is about the same time as 281, but there are no stop lights and you can veg out with the cruise control.

- Take I-30 west past Fort Worth.
- It will merge with I-20.
- Stay on I-20 west.
- About 45 minutes out of downtown Fort Worth on I-30/I-20, exit on 113. I think it is exit number 394.
- Take a right on 113 and head towards Millsap.
- In Millsap, you will go over railroad tracks and through an S-turn.
- After the S-turn, take a left on 3028.
- You will eventually go up long hill on 3028 and reach a stop sign, which is 1195.
- Take a right on 1195.
- Go a few miles to the stop sign, which will be the entrance to Mineral Wells Airpark.
- Turn right into the airpark.
- Merge to the right on to Airport Rd.
- Merge to the left on to Columbia Rd.

Those dogs tasted pretty good by the time we got to them. That first run took awhile.

The vid looks good. Did you have the camera mounted off of the headrest?

Thanks for that info....I figured there has to be a better way to get there besides going thru Weatherford. I will try it out for the next event. See you there.

BTW....I love those R-S3's ! I had a much better and improved set of runs for this past event. No more screeching tire sounds coming from the fronts....or rears for that matter.
Now it's time for me to put in some better driving techniques & executing on my part. Need to improve on my slalom skills. I don't ever feel great thru them.

I had a blast hanging out with the local Z crew.

My best time of the day was 88.59 I believe, which isn't bad for having all-seasons in the front. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't catch up to Chris or Scott, though. Wish I had the money for track set of wheels/tires.

I think I might have them cuz I have two blue bottles of coppertone and one white bottle of something. Michelle packed up my stuff and I got home and I was like WTF lol. I'll bring them for you next time and I shall scold her for stealing lol. My arms didn't burn at all and my face only burned a little. It's my legs that got the worst of it since I wore shorts. Specifically the tops of my calves. I have to wear long socks at work and I thought I was gonna die tonight lol. It hurt the worst after I got home and took my socks off after wearing them for 12 hours lol

I'm glad I put on my sunscreen late morning....cause I would have felt it on Sunday for sure. But Asians don't really burn....we just get dark as hell ! By the end of summer I will be a toasty tan asian ! I really just put the sunblock on for skin cancer protection....you never know ???

Anyways on another note...... Chris you did really good for not having much seat time & being on DD'ng tires. I doubt if I would have put down anything below 89.0 - 90.0.
I was hoping to see Gavin drive his own car on the old set up of his tires so I can gauge myself with him. I figured on his current set up I would be about equal with him. Since he is always a couple 2 -3 secs faster than us anyways. But he had to drive Jon's car....wait ! .... that's supercharged....so he gained on the back straights from me i'm sure. Hmmm ???? we'll never know now !

I need to work on my techniques now so I can beat Scott next time. I don't like him showing me up !

Yes - my tires suck that much! We will see if I can get a set of track rims/tires for the next event and then that will just show how poor my driving ability is

Me too... I already ran it by the wife and it looks good.
That's a 3 days weekend too, if you get memorial day off.

Thanks, man. If I'm still in town, I'll definitely try to make the next VQ event.

Thanks, Chris. There were still about 1-2 seconds that I could have shaved off, even with the overheated front tires. I understeered slightly into the corners and oversteered exiting them on my fastest runs. Regardless, it was fun as hell.

Is there like a results page where we can look at the entire participants' times?
