Just wondering if anyone is in the Hampton area and what the tune-shop / dealer situation is like in the area.
Really bummed that i'm moving to the one state where i can't use my Valentine One, but i guess i'll get over it
(it beats louisiana in just about every other category)
sound be driving in via U-Haul w/ the Z on the trailer sometime next weekend.
will probably be up in the DC area quite a bit as the parents live in the district.
well, just wanted to poke my head in and say hi
take care,
-nick

Welcome to Hampton Roads. There are plenty of shops in the area.
Pomoco Nissan, very close to you, is very supportive of the local "Z" community. Also, Victory Nissan in Chesapeake has great prices on parts and is very 'mod' friendly.
Tidewater Z Auto Service in Poquoson, specializes in every generation Z, and the owner, Todd is very active in the club and racing scenes. Several race shops, including Abacus Racing and Virginia Speed do great custom work and rebuilds.
Tidewater Z Car Club is a great club with monthly meetings, get togethers, racing, rallying, etc. The sister club, ZCAR, in Richmond is coming along nicely as well, and the two clubs have several events together. Triangle Z Car Club, out of Raleigh, hosts several regional track events.
Old Dominion Region of SCCA has Solo-II (Auto-x) events monthly and regular rallies. Tidewater Sportcar Car Club and Beachcomber's Corvette club also have Auto-X series, including winter series going on now.
There are three excellent road courses within driving distance: Virginia International Raceway, Summit Point and Roebling Roads, with another (Dragon's Ridge) being built in Williamsburg due to open in '07.
For drag racing, Virginia Motorsports Park, south of Richmond, is on the NOPI annual tour, and if you like oval racing, Langley has great local action.
There are several tuner clubs, including Negative Elevation, that meet almost every weekend at local shopping centers.
Let me know when you arrive, and I'll get you hooked up with whatever group(s) you want.

Be sure you let us know when you're up in the DC area. Maybe we can get a few of us together and go out to dinner or lunch or something. It's always good to meet other folks, and we are everywhere! There's a HUGE Z presence here in the MD/DC/NoVA area.

That is the common term for the Northampton and Southampton branches of the Eastern part of the island. In Virginia, the city is just Hampton. The official name of this area is Hampton Roads, consisting of 7 interconnected cities: Suffolk, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Newport News, Hampton & Williamsburg. Hampton Roads is the 25th largest metropolitan area in the continental US.
The "Roads" in Hampton Roads is an old nautical term for "a partly sheltered anchorage; a place for ships to anchor," because of the Chesapeake bay and it's watershed, including the James, York, Rappahanock and Potomac rivers.
TMI????

arrived on sunday (the 12th), been stuck behind a .mil firewall all week, so i only get to surf on the weekends... yuck!
getting a house in hampton (buckroe beach) sometime next week, and hope to be moved in before xmas.
if any of you saw a dirty-as-sin black track Z with a uhaul truck closely following, that was me, hah.
same problem with the firewall for AIM, so hopefully i can get my internet connection in the house working right by thursday
oh, and if you hear my car, no, it's not broken, i promise
(still getting used to the chatter)
