I don't have this book w/ me at work (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books), but if you have it, check out page 10. It recommends a loop from Leesburg to Lovettsville. The drive from Evolution to Leesburg is pretty straightforward unless you want to take side roads to get up there - otherwise, its 50W, 15N.

Close to Leesburg, there is Purcellville. And in Purcellville there is the Breaux Vineyard. For $3.00 they let you taste all their wines. And if you want to drive back sober you can spit the wine. You will just have the taste in your mouth. Just a suggestion.

jester7500 and arlingtonz, sure you guys can borrow one. Don't get me wrong it's not like people have stolen them or I'm afraid they'll get stolen, for some odd reason whoever has my radio always gets separated from the group and they have to mail them back to me. As long as you don't mind mailing them back it's all good!

I vote for us all sticking together. It's more fun and much more impressive on the road wouldn't you say? I may be down for the vineyard, have to play it by ear. So I assume we're gonna take the straightforward path of 50W and 15N? If we're far enough north I may just head straight east back to good ol' Bawlmor after we're done.

should we do a headcount?

I'll definitely be at Evolution for the drive, and will ride up to Leesburg+, but I'm not sure how much time I have, so I can't commit with respect to the wine tasting, although it is a great idea. Why are drives so often associated with wings (not that there's anything wrong with that)?

Wine idea sounds cool, I hope it doesn't rain, it's done nothing but rain since I bought me car.

Alain, that is a great idea. I've done the wine tasting at the Breaux vineyards before and the tour of the aging/bottling process. Cool stuff. Actually needed to pick up a bottle or two for Christmas anyway!!

I hope everyone joining is at least 21

Should be a fun time...

The vineyard is a great half way point, too...The driving should be about an hour or so each way and an hour or so at the Vineyard.

Do you know those routes well enough to play leader? it's been a few years since I was out that way. If not, I'll try to whip up a map.

I went a couple of times with Yahoo Maps and another time with GPS. I got 2 different roads. I think the best one is to go 50 West.
