I was reading back through the thread a bit, and just thought I'd comment. I also use Leo's towels, they are excellent microfibers. You can use them for drying, they absorb a LOT of water. The only thing is they do it sort of slowly. If you try to sheet water off the car as best you can, you can sort of blot up the few remaining spots with the towel. If you drag it slowly across the paint, it should dry fairly well.

Also, the DFTowel is incredible for quick detailing!

I use these towels all the time when I use the hoseless (but not waterless) Protect-All's Quick and Easy Wash. They work great for drying then. I agree on waffle-weaves, though, they soak up water a lot faster, but have the trade-off of not having a nap to them. So if there were still any dirt or grit on the car, they would be more likely to mar the paint. Meguiar's made my absolute favorite waffle weave. It's big, thick, and dries like a champ. My second fave is one that is almost as good and much cheaper from Winners Circle Detailing. The owner is a real nice guy and a pleasure to do business with.

Kelly,
I may show up for a bit. My cars paint is pretty messed up right now from bad paint on the new body kit, but I'd like to make it out anyway.

Guys .... MAN what a day!

I'd like to thank Kelly for hosting this event... and feeding us!

Bob.. thanks again for making it out. We could not have done it without you!

I'd like to thank Meguiars for getting us set up with the NXT wax, NXT wash, and Clay bars! I'm glad they sent soooo much so I could send you guys home with some really great products.

I hope that you guys had as much fun as I did... and picked up a few tricks!

My camera died too early in the day.. so I'm gonna rely on Kelly posting some of the pictures from his camera.

Here are my pic's

Juan knows what he did wrong...

Dam, I missed this one. For some reason, I have the 16th in my head and when Juan called me, I was home babysitting. I called my wife to get back and let me go but she did not come back until 4:30pm. Meanwhile I got depressed. I was watching the Canada Grand Prix Formula One. The 2 Renaults were leading the race. It was great and one by one they abandoned the race. So Mikki Raikonen on Merecedes McLaren won and Michael on Ferrari, 2nd. Yes I supported the Renaults. Wonder why?

Today was very informative to someone like myself whom likes to touch, set random metal things, and let high school kids with brooms reek havoic on his paint.

Thanks again Bob for the lessons today, now get rid of that sedan and get you a Z.

Great job making meguairs earn that big *** vinyl on your car mike .. now if only Vortech would come in and donate free superchargers .. that would be a great event!

Kelly if we had a trophy for best host , I would give it to ya. You and your wife did a fantastic job. Look forward to this bday party ... 25 right?

True, I got there late and missed the food. But...got some free samples (Thanks Mike!) Kelly, you and Tammy put on a real nice event. Seeing all those trick Zs has inspired me. I'm building a house, selling another one but just got find the time to mod the Z. I thought I had a nice sports car til I saw the rest of your rides. I feel like a newborn pup! Next time we meet, I'll have some chrome or some tint or something. Still looking for the hi flow cats if you run across any more (Kelly). Thanks a bunch guys!

Hey all,
It was a pleasure having you guys over at the house today. Thanks to everyone for being cooperative about moving cars and keepin' it mellow. My neighbors were too awe-struck by all the great cars to be pissed off that we consumed all the available parking (and for about 30 minutes, the entire road).

HUGE thanks and props to Big MD for all the supplies that were used and handed out today. Very good stuff.

It was great to see all of my ZDayz brethren (minus Mike B.) (and Sister....Jenny ).

If you guys have any feedback on how things went well or could be done better, please post here. The idea is to learn how to make these things better so as we do detail days and other events in the future, they're better for everyone.

That said, here's some of the pics I took. Hope you enjoy. There were some AMAZING cars rolling out of my garage today.

The hi-res versions of all of these are availabe at http://www.capital350zclub.com/hosti...il-day/hi-res/

Hey guys, I had a blast. Sorry I couldn't stay longer, but I already had some family plans. You guys were definitely pulling some glossy cars out of the garage!

Here's a few of my pictures. My camera was really struggling with the sun, and about half my pictures were out of focus or way off color.

Early in the day:

People start showing up:

Heheh, my car! This pict came out crummy on my camera, not sure if anyone else snapped it?

Hey Mike, where's the half-and-half shot you took of Juan's trunk? And I can't believe I didn't snap any pictures of people claying or polishing or anything. You'd think all we did was park cars on the street and sit in the shade...

Man, wish I could of made it. Pictures look awesome.

I would have liked to see how the Meguires looks compared to the Zaino on my Z.

Kelly, how about you host another one of these in the Fall, I'm sure everyone will need it by then.

We'll see what we can do. We had a good time yesterday, except for this darn sun-burn.
