Default So much for Detail Day...Z falls victim to road debris :(

So I'm driving to work this morning going down 50E, doing about 70 mph in the leftmost non-HOV lane, when this pickup in the HOV lane comes cruising past me, not too much faster than I was going. Next thing I know, I hear this loud a$$ bang just to the left of the windshield. I did not see what hit the car, or where it came from, but I'm assuming it flew up from underneath the pickup's tires. I immediately thought whatever hit my car hit the driver's side front pillar, so I stuck my hand out the window to give it a feel, but no damage. When I got to work and took one look at the car, I was PO. The UFO left 1 dimple and scraped right through the paint on the front fender and mirror. I guess it's time to give Alain a call...

Now on to the pics...

I don't know much about bodywork, but will my whole fender have to be repainted?

vlm7 poses a good question. Will my insurance rates go up if I file a claim? I'm under Geico.

ur rates w/geico usually only go up when u get into accidents that are ur fault. but if u have a high deductable i wouldnt go that route. just give alain a call and he will definatley give u a good price.

Damn Jess....That's horrible. Having looked at Alain's work on Mike's dent, I'm confident that he'll have you good as new in no time...And know you'll have an excuse to put some more time on the PC!!

I made an appointment with Alain for this Saturday...I waste no time. And since it'll be in the shop, I may finish up some unfinished business that's currently lying on the floor of my living room .

Sorry to hear about your mishap. Who is Alain? Is he a member on here that repairs dents? Does he do body work such as painting front ends? Does he detail-such as buffing scratches out? Any info would be appreciated I have a few things Id like to get rid of.

His screenname is INDECIS. He used to own one of the baddest Z's...in the country. He has and is currently working on some of the member's cars. He's painted front ends (valdeztke+) and repaired dents (mdracer76). Give him a call and tell him what you want done, he's a cool guy.

Maybe to indicate that you've had front bumper + other work done at his shop.

My mistake...

Although, on the currently active user list on the forum home page, there's a plus sign after your screenname. Does anyone else see that?
