Default Clear bra??

Ok, so this F*$king woman in my parking garage just backed into my car while I was in it. THANK GOD she didnt touch the headlights ( I just got done blacking them out from inside). Anyway, the Z took it like a trooper with nirtually no real damage. I know I can still get a repaint out of the deal which is great due to all the pitting I had. My question is about the clrar bras, any of ytou have them? Are they worth it? and any idea on how much for a quality install? Thanks!!

you will have to wait 30 days for the fresh paint to cure. I've heard good things about Roadblock in Sterling, VA. http://www.rdblockva.com/

Also, did you do your headlights yourself? Any issues? I'm thinking about doing this but have never baked headlights before and don't want to screw it up.

yeah I did it myself...REAL pain in the a**. Turned out good though. If I had to do it again I would have given myself 2 extra hours to let the paint completely dry before rebaking to put them back together. At certain angles you can see where the balck looks more matte than glossy. Only noticeable if youre really looking but Im a perfectionist....Plan on an 8 hour time frame to do it all.

Simply J -- You really only need to wait about 2 weeks. Plus make sure your painter puts at least 2 coats of clear on the bumper.

I got mines done buy -

Dude is like freak of nature! Did my vielside front bumper with one piece of film!!! CRAZY. I will guarantee u will not know it is there.

Give him a call and tell him John with the black widebody Z sent you. He will take care of you. If your Z bumper is stock, pricing shouldn't be a big issue. Well worth the 30 min drive form DC.

John, WHOA, I just got off the phone with Rob. Seemed like a good guy and knew what he was talking about but damn man, we are working off different budgets. He quoted me a "special" price of $1000 installed for the clear bra on the stock bumper. I really appreciate the info, but I just cant swing that for "protection".

J- haha, yeah, take a number, Probably the best thing would be for you and juan to get together the same weekend and do this. He has benn bugging me for weeks now to help him. I could swing by and give some pointers and help with the headlight "opening" and rewiring, which are the hardest parts.
Ill be at Juans house tomorrow, so we can talk then if ur there

I got my mirrors, inside parts of fenders, door edge and front end done for $500 at a place called Ultra Shield in Cheaspeake, VA. They did a awesome job and also whats great is a computer cuts out the pattern that way no cutting to make it fit while on car. Let me get his number and I will PM you it and post it. I am going to get him to make a custom clear bra for my new bumper this week.

$1000? that's too much .. PM me, I have a friend that is a 3M dealer and you'll get it installed for about half that...

I personally have experience with 3M on many cars, it worked out wonderfully. I never put one on the Z and I wish I did before I got my front end sandblasted!

I had the front of my hood, fenders and mirrors done for $300 by Quality Tire in Woodbridge. They also use a computer to cut out the pieces. I'm having mine redone this weekend...I had to have it removed when I had the front end replaced and repainted. I'm thinking about having the entire bumper done too, but not sure what the additional costs will be yet. PM me if you want their number I have it somewhere.

also, the price will change a lot if you're just doing the bumper or the whole kit.

The 3M package I am talking about is the whole front bumper, part of the fenders, part of the hood, the mirrors and pretty much what you see on the car when you look at it from the front except the windshield obviously. That will cost you about 500 installed.
