Fender rolling in MD?? NEED HELP!
I went to a nearby body shop this afternoon to get a quote on having my rear fenders rolled so my gloss black LE37's will not rub. Ive read of $100-150 on here being a fair price. Anyways body shop said if they roll they cant guarantee the paint on the outside of the fender wont crack. Worst case scenario if it did, I would need to repaint both fenders after rolling I was quoted $394 per side. Best case scenario they roll the fenders, and it comes out ok, $150 per side
WTF! Anybody know of any body shops in MD that have experience with fender rolling? I asked this guy if he had a fender rolling tool, and he looked confused, lol. Any help would be appreciated. I was hoping this wouldnt happen-now I have to go through the pain in the d!ck of finding a good fair body shop.
I have a friend who does it on the side... he does a great job. He mostly does audis and bmw's but he rolled ilbkuup's rear fenders not too long ago so you can find out his opinion. IIRC he charges 80-100 total.

he has an eastwood fender rolling tool... it's the blue one that attaches to the hub and has a nylon roller. Basically the method is using a heatgun to constantly heat the paint up to prevent cracking while progressively rolling the fender lip in from behind. It will create a slight (and I mean very slight) pulled effect that cannot be seen unless you are looking for it. but this is the way most professionals do it and it is how my old car was done. Like I said, ask Ilbkuup for his honest opinion but I believe he was quite happy with the results.

If the person is good any cracking will occur on the inside of the fender and not on the outside. My buddy with a Supra had his done, and a little of the inside cracked, but that's it.Did you ever end up going to OC? I think I was pulled over with my roomates Viper and you just drove by me

Either was you or another loud *** blue Z

Edit-I just remembered my GF saw you guys pulled over, I didnt see you. I told her to keep her eye out for the red Viper, she remembers us messing around over 2 years ago when you had the Altima.
Wanted to post an update for the mid atlantic people in here. First off let me say thank you Simply J-for putting me in contact with the fender rolling guru
This afternoon I had my fenders successfully rolled, no paint cracked outside or inside the fenders. I have pics of the car with the wheels on it now, and of the tool that was used to roll the fenders, and an inside fender shot so you can how it looks rolled. I already posted it in another section of the forum so HERE are the pics-scroll down to see the inside fender pics and pics from today. For anybody needing fenders rolled I highly recommend you get in touch with Roger. What do you guys think, Im so glad I waited for these wheels.
