Default Turbonetics Kit - 12.4@113.95

Nothing else to say about that, except sorry that I missed the BBQ / Cruise.

It was a great evening and had some good luck. All done so far on street 19s.

Alberto and Integrity can attest to my setup that evening.

We need to make a track night out of it sometime Kelly...

Integrity,

He beat me, but not by a lot. He ran 11.9 against a 12.5 that I put up. So I will take the loss against a super modified monster.

Alberto - can't wait for you to get there with me bro...

Laww, im Artem, I met you at capitol last friday.
You got one beautiful piece of art Z, bro.
Im glad i met you guys (you, bert, charles), I got a stock Z for now, with popcharger on order, didnt do too well on friday, coz of my clutch problems (14.3 HAH!), but at least I know what I want to do with my Z now. Thanks guys for getting me into the mod/track scene (even unintentionally, but thats all it takes for a noob to get into it, just a quick look at tricked out Zs, hehe...) hoping to see you guys again at a track sometimes.

Heya Artem,

Nice meeting you you also! You'll get those jitters worked out and be rocking out some good times up there I'm sure! Hopefully I'll start seeing you guys up there more often. Thanks for the kind words...I've worked hard on her so far, and hopefully will be able to make it even better over the winter. (House might set me back on that though.)

Take care and I look forward to seeing you up there again soon!

pfttt kelly wont come to the track he's too worried about that kit to be racing...and the amount of weight he must have added to the car with the kit, doors, and etc....but he does seem like the person to make a few good passes! he just wont come! lol

nice run though laww, can i see the timeslip by any chance? you trapped higher than me, when i made my run, but my et was at 12.3, very nice run though! now hit those 11's! i wish i left the procharger on i think i could have hit the 11's if i put the 9lb pulley on and put some nicer tires on....UGHHHH DO IT FOR ME!!! hit those 11's!

Ben,

I have to come by on Friday for some stuff to be done to the car so I can show you everything I have then, to include the video of it.

I'll try shooting for the 11s as soon as I get some drag radials on.

Thanks,

Laww

Damn Kelly...WTF happened? How did you get those numbers? Are you going to keep pushing TN to do right by you? PM me if that makes you more comfortable.

The torque numbers are way down from my last dyno, but the HP is on par. I'm able to maintain the HP numbers even with the wacky A/F because I'm running between 11 and 12 PSI of boost....on the stock 9 PSI wastegate spring with no boost controller. Figure that one out.

Anyway, Turbonetics took a fair shot at diagnosing this, but there's only so much they can do from 3000 miles away. Unless they were to send someone out here to physically look at the car, there's not much more they can do than what they've already done. I'm on my own at this point.

Thanks man. My car actually went into limp mode on the way home from the mega meet last night. Scared the **** out of me. I have to do something about this soon.

damn, yeah my car when i had the procharger did that a few times....the humidity and dew % in the mornings would sometime get the MAF sensor wet and the car would FREAK and jump into limp mode and when i tryed to accelerate like moderatley it would just hesitate, its very scary...

do u think u could go into more detail of what exactley is going wrong? im no FULL BLOWN Certified Proffesional, but i mean i can atleast get an idea of what possible issues and things it could be...

I really wish I knew what was going wrong, because then at least we'd know where to start. Basically, the fuel curve is very rich, and between around 4500 and 6200 RPM, it's in the 9.x:1 ratio. Additionally, at around 6000-6200 RPM, there is something either timing or AF Map related that is causing a serious power-loss just briefly.

Here's a picture of that in action on the dyno:

So the car is constantly throwing O2 codes because it's so rich. I don't know what the limp-mode issue was, but it was very cool outside (in the 50's), so maybe the voltage on the MAF maxed out and tripped the ECU.

these cars will go into limp mode if they over boost....somewhere near 11 something lbs of boost...which is weird....but the same thing happened to shervin when he tryed to crank the boost up....his car went into limp mode...when it does get colder outside the chances of hitting higher boost is very possible....i really dont think turbonetics should have used the stock ecu with this type of setup....its very risky...and hard to say if the car would take the ECU...some cars just dont respond well to the ecu reflash...but nevertheless....this is just what i think....a few possibilitys though to look at...
