I am going to limit this to 22 people. Any more and I would have to pay the difference.

IF after we have 22 people, individuals wanting to join would have to pay $100 per car. Alternatively as a group we can agree to raise everyone’s individual contribution to cover the difference. This would be an extra $2 per person for each additional car. But I highly doubt that would happen.

Plan on $50. I promise you won't pay more unless you want to.

If we get a group of 16 or more I will go ahead and secure dual lane usage.

FYI, at this point this does not include any food/beverage. I would expect we would try to plan a BBQ or picnic, but planning stuff like that is not my forte..

 

is there an "official" list going on? I just need to get some practice with the light for the Pro-solos in June with my GT.. probably do some data logging as well with the UTEC if I dont sell it by March.

Here you go:

The track normally expects 1 driver per car, and each car driven down the lane has to pay. SO this means if you bring 2 cars to race you have to pay 2 times.

I did get him to agree, if we wanted to, we can have multiple drivers PER car. BUT this means whoever is driving the car MUST fill out the drivers liability form. So if you want to let your girl (or guy) have a go down the track that is cool.

I am not sure if they allow you to have a passenger or not. During the 'Test & Tune' you are not allowed to have a second person in the car while racing. I would assume this applies here also.

So just to be clear: You pay to enter the car for the race, not the driver(s).

I also wanted to add they will enforce IHRA(?) safety rules. I am not claiming to know what those are…? But I know that I ran low 13’s and they told me I need to have a SA(?) rated helmet last year. I will be buying one for these races, and will be more then happy to lend it to people. OR you can rent one from the track. I am also sure there are at least a couple of people going that already own helmets that would be willing to share.

Brent for clarification...I have two motorcycle helmets that meet DOT regulations so would that be in line with track safety rules?

Bam Bam thanks for taking the lead on this! Hopefully we will have a better turnout than last year! Do you have a day in mind yet? I will be spending allot of time in western mass. w/work. So I will need to plan the day with as much time as possible.

The answer to your question is I don't know.
It sounds like it would more then exceed the requirements to me. Helmets for racing are designed to prevent your head from smacking the inside of the car or rollcage. Your helmet is designed to withstand heard impact with the ground... Sounds like a winner to me.

I will talk to the shop next week to find out when I buy my helmet.

There is a moped shop in Merryfield that sells helmets for like $50 bucks and they are DOT approved. I never bought one but I was wearing my friends when I went head first into a sotrm drain doing about 45 or so and came out ok so they should protect fairly well if you've got a car/cage helping out too.

 

This sounds great, count me in.

I have never had them check to see if my helmet is SA or MA or even DOT. They just want to make sure you have one.

Will the fueling station and nitrous refill station be open?

I am looking at Fridays, so either May 13th, 20th or 27th. I will have a firm date by end of March at least. Anyone have any particular problems with Friday May 13th? Just checking before I plan on that date and have half of y’all cancel

MardiGrasMax: Yes the fueling station will be open. They said it is usually not open all day, but they will do periodic fuel calls for people to fill up. As for NOS. I am not sure they provide that service, I guess if they do normally, then it would be available for the day same as the race fuel.

Was looking at the Calendar, and it looks like if you want to go on a Friday in May it will be the 12th, 19th or 26th.

Sounds like fun, I should have my LSD installed by then and i have never been to this track. Mostly run at Mason Dixon in Hagerstown.
