Lightbulb Interest for MIR 350Z/G Track Day in May

Alright, guys. I have called MIR and have gotten the details for renting the Track on a weekday. Here are the costs.

$800 for 1-8 cars
or
$1,200 for 9 – 16 cars (+ $100 for each additional car).

This is for a single lane runs.

If there is enough interest and we want to do some racing, for an extra $400 we can run BOTH lanes for fun.
NOTE: The track is not guaranteed to only be rented to us, there could be another group or two there as well. But I am sure it will be A LOT less people then on a normal weekend.

The track opens at 9 am - 5 pm. The rental comes with all of the normal features. Please see the below website for details:

http://www.mirdrag.com/v2/rentals/

We can bring food and grills for an outdoor picnic. Feel free to bring your girls/wives/kids and call it a family day if you like.

I am posting this now because I wanted to gauge interest for a May Race Day on a Monday or Friday. I will be paying for a majority of the track fee to cover my engine race/tune costs, but I would hope people are willing to put in something like $35 – $50 (depending on how many people want to race) per car to cover a larger group or to allow for dual lane racing.

I know people have commented before they can go on the weekend for less... Keep in mind this allows the 350Z community to get together, practice and learn from our fellow members ways to better our ¼ times. And to have a general day out together.

Let me know what you guys think, or any suggestions you might have.

Regards,
Brent

50 bucks is not a problem to me. And I wouldn't mind bringing food/drinks as well.

Hell, at first I was thinking it was $800 per person and I was still considering it. For $50? Count me in.

Yep, I'm in fo' sho'. If we get 16 cars for $1200, that's $75/car for the day! You can't beat that.

Trust me, I am running 425 to the wheels now, but the first 60' kill me. Can't keep traction and I am blowing mid 13's. There are a number of guys here with stock or NA engines that are beating the **** out of me.

I personally hope to meet some guys with a lot more experience and hope they can help me on my launch and managing the tree. Just think of the bragging rights ….. Plus it is just a good day out for everyone.

Anyway, I will put together more details in the next month or so.

This is a definite event as I need it to tune my car, and the date is going to be somewhere in May.

SO far it looks like we have the following interest:

8 Z/G's
10+ Maximas
1 Other...

Does everyone want to rent a second lane? That would be the $400 extra we would need to divide up?

I am looking at a Friday or Monday in mid-May. I would love to do this earlier but my engine rebuild has to be completed & broke in before I can test it… As we get closer to April I will confirm a date, at least 3 weeks prior I promise.

That being said, if we get a LARGE group of people interested and maybe a shop or two to chip in, we could arrange for something earlier. But I would not be able to cover the initial lane rental charge like I will for this day.

Maybe since there seems to be such a large Maxima interest, there is a local Shop that might be willing to cover some of the initial fee for a earlier race day in March/April and provide a tuning shop or something……. Just a thought.

wait since its 100dollars per additional cars after the first initial 16 wouldnt that make the prices higher? or is there a set price after a certain amount thatll be more reasonable to divide up

I am covering the cost of the initial track rental... so that offsets some of the additional cost for each car over 16 up to a point...... If each car racing pays $50 and we agree on running both lanes… Once you get above 24 cars, it will be too much for me to cover.

Being honest, I really doubt we would get that many people.

This is why I plan on putting a list together as we get closer to April. This will allow me to figure out exactly how many people are going to show up.

So far it looks like we have the following interest:

Dual lane usage
11 Z/G's
10+ Maximas
1 Other

I will say the limit will be maxed at 22 people (gotta save 2 slots for me and Mike at a minimum.)

So as soon as I get some type of confirmation on my engine availability I will set this up.

Regards,
Brent
