you have a lot more horsepower than i,but we as either new or old drag racers know torque is what gets you going and horsepower is what sustains that speed.thats why i really dont care what horsepower the stillen puts out its the numbers under that curve.mine is flat all the way were a lot of people just have that large spike.good luck launching with all that power though.i would prolly listen to chris and walk it out, then(as the sig states bambam).

David,

Thanks for the advice. You guys are all correct, I tried the brute strength approach and was lucky not to snap an axle. Now is time for some finesse.

My torque is not bad. It starts around 260@2300rpm, and grow linearly up to about 425@3500rpm, then it sort of levels off around 5500 before starting to fall a bit to 400@6500rpm and ends around 360@6800rpm.

This I pretty good compared to when I was stock let me tell you..

Im not sure of the exact number but once you hit low 11s... let me throw out a number like <11.5 then you get thrown out if you don't have a roll cage.

On Saturday at MIR, I met the dealer with the Cobra convertible running a SC. He is running low to mid 11's and does not have one either. We can only guess people assume he has one because with his top up it is hard to see back there.

I will be getting a removable rollbar if not a 6 point cage with 5 point harness sometime this season. Right now though as the season is getting ready a lot of shops are backlogged on putting their cages together. Piper is backed up to end of April right now...

FYI: I understand the new NHRA rules require a cage for convertibles without built in rollbars for anything under 13.5.. at least this is my understanding. But hey, I am not in any NHRA competitions..

Thanks for posting pics of my dirty @$$ car.... LOL j/k I think she looks good all ready for the good fight... A Warrior ready to try her new weapons out... She looks pretty damn mean with that hood huh

I left right after my second group run. (That was my 6th run of the morning and I was getting tired already) It was like after 1PM and I had to start my trip. Don't tell me the guy with dealer plates on his black convertible mustang wrecked..? He was on DR's so should have had some directional control... I really hope it was not him… he has a nice SC and water intercooler under that hood. Very clean looking car too.

PS: You think those rims were dirty then... you should have seen them after the 1000 mile dirve to Orlando. They look like i have powdercoated them red. I even tried to clean the car each day of the drive...

yeah man you're car is def. beast... what kinda pads are you running that gives that redish powder?

The mustang was not black...i think it was a faded blue.

I ended up leaving right after that because I had a feeling they'd take quite some time to clean it up.

In other MIR News: maaan those nearly stock evos were running low 12s all day long. *sigh*

Yea the advantages of AWD is pretty significant on the 1/4.
I think those are hawk pads... but it is whatever comes with the AP Racing rotors/calipers.
