I was out at lunch in Fair Lakes today (12:00 4/13/06), the shopping center off Fair Lakes Parkway w/ the Best Buy, Target, Walmart, etc. There is a Chevy Chase Bank in the strip mall all the way on the end, left of Pet Co. It looks like a person took their BMW X5 through the side of the brick wall and came out about half-way through the front doors. It was crazy, police, ambulance, news teams everywhere. Look for it on the new tonight.

 

^^ wow...i've been there to withdraw money from the atm. That is crazy.

 

This happened at a gas station in Reston a few weeks ago too....fire happened and the place nearly blowed up.

What are these people thinking?

Edit: LOL..I just remembered my buddy and I hit the fire hydrant outside that bank (10+ years ago) in his parents 929....car was almost totaled. The fire hydrant didn't pop off like they do in cartoons...

 

i heard it was an employee that drove the car thru the branch

 

lol, i work at the Fairfax Corner branch. they called and we had to come pick up their paper work. it was an Employee of Chevy Chase, but not that branch. she was on her way to the branch to help out some of them when she mistakened the gas for the brake. no one was hurt, they'll be open tomorrow. have a nice day.

 

I used to work for that United Bank on top corner of that shopping center.
