First rule of MIR track day. We don't talk about MIR track day!!!!

lol j/k

I know I had fun, finally broke into the 13's by .004 seconds.

Man, I need some better tires, I was screeching down the track all day long.

Thanks for everyone's advice and support! And for lending me your helmets after that track guy wouldn't let me run without one anymore.

And oh yeah, that dang STI killed us all!!! What was his best run?? 10.86 or something right?

It was AWESOME!!!!

We did have a few casualties though. Bambam screwed something up in his differential and S1ameze broke an axle. I'm sorry that it had to happen. Both guys are quality and their cars are SICK!!

My best was 13.1 with a 1.9 60ft. It was my first time running the 1/4 and I had slicks on. My n2o shot was weak, my bottle heater wasn't working correctly.

Bert posted his normal 12. But there was a WRX that was CRAZY!!!!! Best time I saw was 10.89. I didn't catch his name (very nice guy though), but his car was OFF THE HOOK!!!

It was a lot of fun!!! Weather got into the low 80's but humidity was near 100. Rain held off until the ride home...it rained cats and dogs!

Nice meeting everyone!

Wooooooooooooooooooooooo! Today was beast. I DIDNT BREAK! to many 13.9's for me on my potenzas. ****ty traps of 102+. Not bad for launching like a puss Good luck to brent and everyone else who broke something, that shxt sucks, I KNOW how you feel. Brent, special thanks to you for today, we all appreciate it SO much. Keith stayed straight down the track, and I didnt break anything, it was a GREAT day. And yes, that WRX was a blast to watch. You dont see 10sec WRX's everyday I am pretty baked from the sun, my feet hurt from the 2hr traffic jam/drive on the way home, time to pass out. PEACE

Well Guys... I am glad you all had a good time. It started out a bit iffy on the weather. But Man AM I Burned right now.....

I am sorry I had to leave, and trust me words can not describe how upset I am at not getting any real runs in today.... But hopefully things can be fixed..

As for what happened I do not know. We got Ryan's and My car on the lift. His outer CV joint was blown to bits and my inner CV joint (both of ours on the drivers side rear) appears to have been stripped. I can say that the DSS Level 5 axle is beefy and in fact the outer CV joint looks like a solid metal plate. BUT the inner joint that connects to the LSD remains stock and obviously does not deal well with high torque launches.

We will not know for sure what the problem is until Tuesday when they can take it apart, but I hope the LSD itself it not shattered. I am replacing that with the ATS diff anyway, but that would be a bad sign for the future.

Again, I am glad everyone had a good time. Thanks to the old hands for giving some of the new guys advice and helping on the strip. Maybe we can organize something like this towards the end of the season.

Thumbs up

I had a blast watching everyone, my fiance even had a good time. I didn't wanna run my stock 350z . I just got it and haven't gotten used to launching a rear wheel drive car ( but I can lauch the hell out of my awd stealth) It was nice meeting everyone, everybody was cool and I didn't feel like an outcast. If no one remembers, I was the asian dude with the black track model with leather and navi. Hopefully we can do this again and I'll definitely run my car next time.

that wasnt an STi, it was just a WRX I just had to invite Phil out to run his car, normally it's a road race car, but we were curious if it could do 10s on a hot day

The next track day should be a road course day, where you guys can have more fun running the cars at 25 minute intervals instead of 11 to 15 seconds at a time (and usually, less stuff breaks along the way, unless you totally went too fast and run out of brakes by over using them).

www.hyper-fest.com @ Summit Point is just around the corner, you should all come out as there should be other Zs out there and Phil with his 10-sec WRX should be out there as well with me.

Thanks everyone for me bumming off on the food, and thank you Brent and everyone else that help set this all up to make it happen. Nice meeting everyone, even some old High School friends I haven't seen in almost 10 years.

Btw, Im the lonely 4-door stock Legacy driver

Guys I had a GREAT time, Brent many thanks for setting this one up man it was the best Z meet Ive ever been to. Lol Mike @ the comment above. Tony thank your wife I forget her name for being nice enough to stand by the timeslip machine and hand them out for us that surely was a help to all. Brent I was telling some people Id like to set somthing up around the end of September, much better conditions and we can all set records hopefully BTW my times (not counting 3 bad runs where I let off) were as follows...

11.992 @ 115
11.997 @ 116
12.026 @ 116
12.027 @ 116
12.037 @ 116
12.105 @ 115
12.108 @ 115

I know I have a few other 12.0-12.1's I cant find the slips. I was happy my mph was up an avergage of 2mph from last time I went out-not bad considering the humidity/heat.

BTW-I had a great time racing David @ the end of the day in Keiths S/C G that was a blast, it was nice finally meeting Mike(MDracer) we had some runs and on 1 I let off after fuking up and beat him to the line by .01 seconds-but Mike Ill give it to you, you were getting me off that light. Good times yesterday we without a doubt have to do it again guys.

Wanted to add in these #'s so everybody has them for future reference. if you see your car and would like to specify if yuo had any weight reduction such as spare/tools or anything else(gas level) make note...

Me = 3125-3/4 tank of gas, no spare, no passenger seat
Ryan-Black G = 3600
Dan (Celica) = 2325
Osix-Mike = 3170 **I told you the 06's werent heavier
Rico(sp?) Nightshade = 3170
Booby Ritz-Rob = 3500
Project Sherv = 3450
Ben-Poopra = 3160
Kirk-Orange Z = 3160
Bob-Silverstone = 3230
Integrity-Charles = 3180
David = 3060 *Lightest Z there
Mike-MDRacer = 3290
Tony-EVO = 3190
Last but not least Brents roadster aka The tank = 3770

Pretty cool we did this guys for those that have dyno'd you can now calculate very accurate power to weight.

It was nice meeting you all and I had a blast too. My runs were crappy as usual, could not break 14.3. (Very dissapointed about that, and thinking of selling the Z now.) Oh well. Also my clutch was grinding on 2'nd gear towards the end so I had to leave, cause I did not want to break something.
