Red face (May 5th) Friday Night Dulles Town Center Chicken Fill

Hey I was wondering if any of you Z boys will be going this friday to the little import gathering that happens every Friday night In Dullus Town Center? The reason I ask is that My Pop Charger came and I was wondering if I could bring the car over there and some of you could give me a hand and install it together. Kinda of a Noob when it comes with installing and the pop charger has already been sitting in my garage for one full week and I can't wait anymore

Or if any of you would be in the sterling area that Friday after 12:00PM you can stop by my house or whatever.

I was at Dulles Town Center the other night shopping at the mall with the gf, while I was leaving, I hit a stop sign and I see this car behind me zoom up next to me. This guy in a Silver Mustang with plate saying something like "Stang2" rolls up and his gf pokes her head out of the passenger side window and yells out, "Hey! some of my friends want to race you!" So I said, "Say what? Race? Sorry, I only do that at the track." She goes, "well, some of us are meeting at the Chick-Fila right now, you wanna come?" And I have no idea where this chick-fila meeting spot is so I go ahead and follow just to know where it is. As im following these ppl, this black civic year 2002+ hatchback SI with smoked tails comes up next to me and revs his engine and instigates a race (the mustang guy's friend). So I ignore him and turn into the Chick-Fila. The Civic guy motions me to come over to talk for awhile and he proceeds to ask me a bunch of questions.

Him: "So... you like your car?"
Me: "it's alright"
Him: "Is it paid off?"
Me: "Yup!"
Him: "You have the slip to your car?"
Me: "Not with me, I usually dont carry that around."
Him: "You wanna race me for slips?"
Me: "My car's too slow"
Him: (looking all puzzled) "but it's a 350z..."
Me: (all sarcastic) "Yeah, my previous car was much faster, im disappointed... and I only race at a track AutoX style, no straight lines."
Him: "Oh ok... hm... well whenever you feel like losing your car, let me know"
Me: "Sure thing buddy! cya later!"

And I head out of there. He was a white guy with a mustache, didn't sound like he had any forced induction or anything, maybe a bottle of NOS is what i'm suspecting. Either way, makes an eventful story! Watch out for hoodlums trying to race for pinks at this spot, they seem to be very presistant!

HAHAHAH.. You should have just run the si for fun, I can't believe you backed down.. If you don't wanna run anyone why are you driving your car around at night and hanging around the parking lots?

^^ He said he was chilling with his girl coming from the mall!! He wasn't hanging around parking lots picking up some Rice Race. Actually I find it really low class to pull that type of jack when you are with your girl anyways. I think he did the perfect thing, none the less he should had done the same even if his girl wasn't there. There is a class that goes with every type of car. If you act all imature and keep racing and droping it to 3rd gear you'll be as low as those little Civic boys. 40K car should be driven with lots of class and maturity!! Everyone know their 0-60, You know yours, the Civic dude does his I don't even know why people would race.

Now doing real tracks with twist and turns is another thing!! But then that's in a special day at a special place!!

Oh and i just Installed my Pop Daddy Charger!! Sounds amazing in 3rd gear. I didn't install the heat shield things though, couldn't get it to happen.

I'm not sure what happened there, but on Friday nights I have never seen/heard anything like that happening before. But who knows.. I will say if someone is silly enough to risk losing their Z to race a Honda... Probably better off losing the car and gaining a life lesson...

I have enjoyed hanging out with the classic car guys/gals on Friday evenings, but to each their own.

hahahah, I try not to street race because for one, my gf was with me and I don't want to endanger her life out of my own expense of a thrill ride. Two, I was trying to find this Chick-Fila spot forever so I followed that stang on the sole purpose of knowing the location and not to race. Nonetheless, it would've been great to have a fun run, but I didn't want to endanger the people surrounding me (traffic was still flowing @ 10pm). And the best reason not to street race is... (read my sig) no point in proving how much horsepower an engine has (I can just surf online to see what can beat what) without testing the actual driver's abilities to corner, brake, reaction time, etc.

Okay, it's not an IMPORT meet...let's clear that up. It's Classic Cars....there just happens to be a handful of other imports that show up.

Anyway, i should be there again with my car as usual and i'll try to get my dad to bring his '78 vette up again

yeah i was out there this past weekend with Mike. we were the only two Z's out there. a few other hondas but mostly classic cars. was nice though seeing the classics for a change. you spend so much time around imports you kinda learn to appreciate something different.

haha. that's classic. yeah street racing just isn't worth it. better to
not race and take some hits to your pride than wind up on the local
news b/c you got toasted in your car literally.

besides tracking your car takes real skill. a monkey could hit the gas
and drive in a straight line.

Default Race?

I know most of us Z owners are too smart to race on the street, in Fairfax County, of all places. Did you ever think he could be a cop? Never know....

He definately was no police officer, he looked no more than 21 years of age with two of his friends in the car backing him up, I thought I was going to get robbed if anything yet alone win myself a new civic. I found a picture that fairly is a close representation:

Imagine that with a mustache, cigaweed hanging from 1 lip and he even wore that bandana too.
