Default New 350Z in MD, Question about Clear Bra

My dad finally just bought his new 350Z and is looking to get a clear bra. Anyone in Maryland know where the best place to get it done at? And what places have the best price? He just wants the clear bra installed on the front bumber. Thanks

$350'ish if you know where to shop, regular asking price is $600'ish if you want to get ripped off.

I was quoted in the 800 or 900s...needless to say..I haven't gotten clear bra. If you drive carefully, you should be ok without it. That is..don't follow big trucks.

Whatever the cost figures are, think about it this way, say you spend $400 on a clear bra, that's equivelant to getting your bumper repainted TWICE @ $200 each round (if you know where to shop that is). I however, got my clear bra installed at the dealer as part of the haggling scheme (free). The only advantage of having one is the fact that your bumper will look spotless 24/7, however chances are you'll end up running into something in the long run, so you just have to ask yourself is it worth getting a piece of plastic @ however much you find it for... when you can simply respray your bumper for a fraction of the cost?

I always go by the phrase "You get what you pay for". Good deals are nice but quality work is better. As a tinter "clear bra" is not an easy thing to do and i would def. make sure the person doing it knew what they were doing. Ill pay extra for the expertise and peace of mind. Just my opinion though.

Here's a business out for Bel Air. I got a quote of $749 installed for the full complete package - bumper, hood, mirrors, lights, door guard, fender well, rocker/side sills - basically all vulnerable areas. They do onsite work if you have a garage or in the shop if you are close. The application areas should be cleaned and decontaminated if at your location. They will do the rest. Check out the videos and pics on their website. If you call, ask for John T. It's expensive but VentureShield, from my research, seems to have the best qualities. Good luck.

Greg - Did you get your Z in earlier than 5/17 or still waiting, and what film brand do they use? Warranty? I haven't scheduled mine yet.

I haven't gotten it installed yet. The brand is 3m ScotchGard film (invisible bra). I have not asked about the install warranty yet. But, 3M ScotchGard film includes a 5 year warranty by 3M.

The primary difference between 3M and Venture is in the Clearcoat (single ply V Twin ply) here in the UK I won't install any non clearcoated films due to potential staining and discolouration problems with non clearcoats.

Some other films to look at are Avery (new clearcoated one make sure you get priced for that) and Baekert (clearshield clearcoat) along with the 3M those would be my choice on my car.

Xpel have a list of installers on their website who use the differing brands of Clearcoated film and there are some good guys doing this, one of the best over there I know is David at speedfilm who has been doing this since the beginning and he has a list of quality independent outfits on his website (kind of a co-op thing I guess)

Hope that Helps
