Slightly OT, but does The Geek Squad really know anything about computers or are most of their functions really based off of manuals and knowledge bases?

exaclty, and theyre banking on that you dont know JACK CRAP!

Their prices are rediculous, i remember when i got my 360 at best buy, they wanted over a hundred bucks to come set it up on my network and that was a discounted price! The 360 was damn near plug in play with my router and dsl.

Half them geeks dont know crap, theyre just given a manual and a weeks training to do a simple job. Im sure they know more of a womens anatomy than they do coputers, and that aint saying much.

but then again, anybody ever use them?

my friends works for the geek squad he knows jack **** about computers and to have them come to your house the charge is about 20 bucks an hour

it depends on who you get...some people will know what they are talking about...others will know d!ck...

 

The thing is, if there was a person with the Geek Squad that did know his ****, I'd think he'd be working a different (read: better) job... my 2 pennies.
