I had sold my set of 03 17" wheels and tires to a friend of mine in Chesapeake and we were to put them on for todays meet at jenros and some dirtbag stole them from the back of his house. These were bead blasted and chromed dipped, perfect shape. They were not in any way visible and were covered. They were behind 2 gates and were not conspicuos. He had the pool opened up by a co. this past week and they had acccess to this area. He put a call into the co. and asked for them to check into new employees who might have been to his house etc.. From the looks of things it was since monday night and possibly even last night. Neighbors have been notified as well as police.
Just thought I'd vent and if anyone sees or hears of a great deal on something that sounds like these wheels let me know. I can identify.

The location of the theft is right off of Mt. Pleasant Rd. in Chesapeake, near Schoolhouse Rd.. This is a good location, thats why we think its an inside job, someone who had opportunity to casually uncover to see what was under cover and then take them.

I guess he felt he lived in an exclusive neighborhood and that his home was his castle. Where he opted to leave the wheels was by all appearences just an area for the A/C and some potting plants, a wheel barrow, and some pool accessories. The pool was opened Tuesday by an outside co. and he discovered the loss today. He thinks that when the pool was opened the pool people had enough legitimate access to his yard that they could have gotten curios enough to investigate what was covered inconspicuously.
The neighborhood has not been targeted like this before.

Sorry to hear about the wheels, dude. I agree about locking them up, though. I learned my lesson when my California Edition Mongoose was stolen from my back porch when I was 12.
Has anyone seen my Mongoose? It had aluminum rims with blue dots all the way around and a blue seat.
(Okay, I'm a jerk.)
I don't know how popular it is to chrome stock Z rims but I did see a red Z with those wheels parked in front of Whole Foods in Baltimore earlier today. Kind of a longshot but I'd thought I'd put it out there

Thanks for looking out for the wheels. I would like to target sellers of these wheels in the Hampton Rds. area as opposed to 350Z guys we might see driving around. I doubt that a fellow Z enthusiest would knowingly be driving around on stolen wheels when they are rather unique.
A thief may try to mount them on a non Z and that would stand out. Or he may try to sell them and that flag would be " how did he come by 350 Z wheels", I think these 2 scenarios would be more probable in recovery than to suspect Z owners who happen to have some on their cars. It probably wouldn't hurt to ask their story as to how they like their wheels etc. etc.
Thanks.
