Default July 8 - 9th 2006 Hyper-Fest! Summit Point

Hey all! I am from fem-tech.com and a friend of forced6. Just thought Id come over here and post about hyper-fest.

Hyper-Fest

Hyper-Fest is a yearly event at Summit Point in West Virginia, it is insanely hot but pretty fun. One thing I learned last year attending was to bring cash for water and if so inclinded a cooler of my own lol :P If you are racing they have cold water for you but I still recommend bringing some of your own.
Helmets are required and can be rented at the track. Long pants and sleeved shirts are required on the track at all times. It does not need to be long sleeve but tank tops are not allowed, I am bummed on that one :P Would be a good event for some fem-tech shirts
There is a rice challenge where you get a car and a kit to make rice and the best rice wins if there are three or more fem-tech girls it would be fun to enter together!
Camping is available from Friday night until Sunday afternoon, if you do not want to jsut drive there or stay at a hotel. If you go to the Summit Point site they have links to hotels and some discounts to one or two.

Events:

US Drift Nationals - $150 entry fee and includes two practice sessions and the competiton. There is a cash prize to the winner. All cars must pass basic inspection and convertibles need a 4-pt roll bar. You can register at this link

US Drift 101 - $150 entry fee. Taught by BSR driving instructors and the first part of the day is discussing tecnique and car setup. The second half is actual track time. Spaces are limited so sign up fast! I know I am registering as soon as I finish posting here You canregister at this link

NASA Pro Road Racing - Fee varies. NASA road racing contains the following challenge: The Honda Challenge, The Factory Five Racing Challenge, The BMW Spec E30 Series, The Camaro Mustang Challenge, The 944 Challenge, The American Iron Series, The Spec Miata Class, The German Touring Sports Car Challenge. Descriptions can be found at the previous link and you can register at this link and this link

Hyper Show Off - Entry fee $35 at track. Has a bunch of categories you can win at the previous link.

Shot Gun Rides Entry fee $10 at track, first come first served type deal. You get to ride as a passenger at high speeds in a race car of a professional driver. There is also an event where you can be a passenger in your own car... but that isnt as fun

Rice Rice Challenge - entry fee $0. As explained before you get to build the ricest car in order to win Teams can be no larger than 4 members and email chris@hyper-fest.com to enter. Enter fast because only three teams get to play!

DareDevil Throwdown - entry $0 and a bit more confusing than the others... They arent car involved and just fun contests, contestents are choosen by MC but I am not sure what MC is... the contests are: The pile on Crawler Race, where you get on a mechanics crawler and do a sprint and then your team mate gets on with you still on it till there are 4 people total. Ice Bobbing bobb in ice water and get as much as you can in 60 seconds. Jalapeno Pepper Eating Contest you get 15 peppers and in the first 30 seconds can only eat one then lets see who eats the most! Watch out for that tie breaker though they give you 12 sprinkled with hot sauce... Piercing Contest who has the most. [Tattoo Contest who has the most

Rollover Contest Entry fee $??. Must be 18 years or older and wear a helmet, neck collar, eye protection, long sleeces, long pants and gloves. The idea is to flip your car over. There is a cash prize. Registration not open yet

Hyper Drive Entry fee $40. You get classroom and racetrack time on how to become a high performance driver. You can register at this link

Daisy Duke Contest Entry fee $0 and has a $500 prize. All you need to do is show off your behind and have the cutest butt out there

Jimmies Chicken Shack will be performing on Saturday night and there will be some famous fireworks.
