Hey what's up guys "I'm new"
Sup guys, this is my first time joining a forum. I'm 24 and from NOVA. I don't own a Z yet, but I will be getting one beginning of next month. I just sold my 00' Civic Hatchie, so I'm kinda anxious. I would appreciate some help, never owned a rear wheel drive, so I don't know what I'm getting into. Speaking of which, is the new 2006 350z come with alittle bit more juice than 05 and below? thanks guys
Coming from a Civic is a big stride =) Rear wheel drive isn't a really big deal, just be careful in the rain and around corners (or at least more careful than you would be in a FWD). The 06 does come with 13 more crank horses than the previous models.
Back to RWD, I have owned nothing but RWD cars. Keep in mind that RWD is used in drifting (which is the art of losing control) so it does break loose in the back easier than FWD, especially since it has almost twice the horsepower of your previous car.
Anything else? =)

Welcome to the site, man. Some of the newer models have what we call a Rev-up motor. Its rated at 300hp, up from the regular 287, but it loses some low end torque. My only suggestion to you is once you get the car, try and take it easy. If you spend enough time just getting used to the car you'll have no problems once you start the "spirited" driving.
even though the 06's have 13 more crank hp, it also loses some torque and it weighs 200 lbs more! I lost traction in the rear countless times when I first got my 350 because I wasn't used to RWD, but like what the guy said above, just becareful around corners and in the rain and you should be fine.

Holy crap! thanks guys. Man, so i should becareful in the corners during the rain and snow. Alright thanx. Yea, I'm miss fwd, but I need a new toy and it's the 350z. I know what I want to do with it, but I'm going to need some help from you guys.

The 06's dont weigh 200lbs more we verified this to be false at a track day with 20+ Z's.
Welcome to the boards, and make sure you research everything. Anything you could want to know such as whats the best XXX? Has already been asked. My advice is to do some research learn the pros and cons to each mod and decide whats best for you. If in that process you have a Q feel free to ask we have some pretty knowledgable guys in this Mid-A section.
