yeah gonna be difficult. with no cats there is no way are going to "legally"
pass inspection as far as i understand it. i assume you looking for some of
the underground emissions facilities that look the other way while you pop
some cash in their hand... LOL.

Lots of places are plugging into your OBD2 port now to check emissions. As long as you dont have a check engine light you should be fine at one of these stations. I had a friend pass with no cats. Its the sniffer test you have to watch out for.

In md 96 and higher get OBD2 plugged in, if VA is the same way you should be good just make sure you don't have any codes before you get there.

Hey Zeus, this is one of the reasons I sold my car. Here in FFX and Loudoun Counties, the emissions program is all computerized. They plug in to your OBD-II system and pull sensor status on a number of sensors. Your O2 sensors will most likely show 'not ready', as will your catalytic converter status because the O2 sensors are not seeing the exhaust gas "lean out" between the front and rear readings (No cats=no hydrocarbons burned up).

I tried several times, but with no luck. I can hook you up with a guy for state inspection, but that's a human administered test, so it's easy.

Good luck man...you know what it's time to do.

This isn't true here in VA. I had no codes when I tested and I failed every time. I even plugged my scanner in just before the emissions guy plugged to make sure. It's possible to have no DTC codes active and still have your sensors indicate 'not ready'. Once that happens, you're done for.
