Thanks for posting the pics guys...
I had a great time and really do recommend everyone at least try it once. Trust me you will learn something (both about the cars' ability and your driving skills) and it is just a lot of fun to push the car as far as you feel comfortable with.
Those NSX's were some sweet cars and that damn yellow WRX was pissing me off to no end most of the second day... My goal was to pass his *** (instead of him always passing me in the straights) and by the last session I was
But it did ultimately cost me a spin out I was driving soo hard (plus a couple of other factors)
And the instructors... you all drive like madman...

besides, if you never been to the track, just like Brent, you will start in Group 1 with the rest of the Novices. You will also have a mandatory ride-along instructor to help you become a better driver.
That BMW that wrecked was in Time Trials competition, which is totally different than your High Performance Driving Event Class.. he probably pushed the car TOO hard and that is what happend.

And as for me, I dont drive that fast, I got a slow car, barely 200 whp pushing about 3700 lbs with another passenger in the.. it's just that I have been doing this for over 6 to 7 years and it just looks like we are all crazy
Yes, agreed, you can definitely drive to your comfort level of being safe, drivers can leave the ego at home, as instructors, we WANT you to be safe out there and want you to be faster, but it all comes down to how much you are willing to learn.
Yellow WRX? I think it was an Evo
Btw, all the Evos in your Group 1 was making something around 400 hp and up. Dont try to chase anyone down on the track, eventually, something bad will happen with that.If anything in your group Brent, was the 911 that was being really slow even down the back straight.. I use to have a student that was THAT slow (he didnt go past 80 mph throughout the whole weekend throughout the entire track).. some people just need time, the instructors are there to make everyone a better driver.
I'd love to do a track day, but I can't afford to wreck the car either. Anyone know the insurance policy with respect to this? Is it a "drivers ed"/"performance driving school" type deal where they will cover it or is it a "race" where they obviously will not... ?

Here's Leland West Insurance Company, where they have some specialty policy that may cover Driving Events:
http://lelandwest.com/
There are some companies in Canada/overseas as well that allows coverage for you even if you live in the USA.
I think on other track insurance companies have some average policy setups like:
20% deductible of the value of the car
coverage can be yearly premium or by number of events
coverage can be as low as $5,000 car
comprehensive race coverage is also available (incase YOU hit someone else)
and much more other variations out there
Just Google it, some track insurance is REALLY cheap compared to your normal car insurance.. but basically, you get BOTH.. one policy for TRACK, and another one (your original insurance) for STREET.
