Default The potential for super autobacs

Hi all,

Im sure that most of us here have heard of super autobacs. If not, it is a japanese automotive company that sell performance and maintenance parts for almost every japanese import car. These stores are spread all over Japan and there is even one in SoCal see here. My goal is to bring one over here to the east coast, preferably to the mid-atlantic and tristate area. My goal is to install it in a location that is a reasonable distance from NYC, Phila, and D.C.(not forgetting about you maryland or virginia people ). Right now Im doing research to see if there is enough of an interest base on the east coast to get one over here. Please give me your imput, ideas, rants, etc. Thank you very much!

Cory

U SUCK!!!! I'm just kidding. I was looking into this heavily. I think as long as it is in the right place it would work. I don’t know how far you are into this but when I was researching this I had a really hard time finding the right contact people here in the US. If I was you I would only do a super Autobacs not any of their satellite stores. And I have heard that in CA the service isn’t top notch so that would have to be a big focus to make it a success.

GOOD LUCK!

We definetly need to get one of these on the east coast. I've always said if I had won the lottery I would have purchased a franchise and opened one in Columbia, MD.

itll only be successful in the lower east coast. The upper east coasters are always parting out cars and selling used parts.

Let's open up that Autobac's store. I'm down.

There's also a shortage of Ikea's and Hooters....maybe we can combine all three.

HA! Thank you for all of your replies. ZYAAA21, I am pretty far into this as of right now, pretty much the only people i havent contacted are the people at sutobacs seven. Im not planning on putting any of the satellite stores there, but a nice, big, super autobacs.

I would say you would have to put service, price and competence at the top of your list.

No one wants to buy parts for their car from people who know nothing about them :cough:Autozone:cough:. Keep knowledgable people on your staff. I hate having to walk in and explain to someone what the part I'm looking for actually does. Try and keep the prices competitive. The DC/NOVA area would probably take to this pretty well.

Autobacs in the US is totally different/worse than what is in Japan. I was expecting it to be the same as in Japan, but it isn't. You'd expect to find lots of hard to find "JDM" parts, but you will be disappointed. Autobacs here just gets all their parts from the US distributors.
