I suggest you keep an eye open for the Coulmbia crew to meet up, that way you can meet a few faces and listen to a bunch of systems/get ideas/ask questions. I know Gooey has a Nismo + test pipe combo--one of the sweetest sounding exhausts on an NA Z Ive heard...

I have nismo and test-pipe exhaust. I'll probably make it out to the columbia meets once they start happening.

Yes TP's are illegal, and they make the car louder, thats why we love them

I am not out for the loudest sound..but want a nice exotic type growl..nothing like the topspeed or anything...i like nismo cuz it kinda sounds like a beefier stk exhaust...granted wish it looked slightly more aggressive and maybe TD...but all in all i think its great...altho again..ive heard a million sound clips..but dying to hear it in person.

You could always do resonated tp's for a decent gain in power for minimal cost. It will be louder than just the exhaust without the raspiness you may encounter.

SOOO many options..i really want the exhaust..the reason i dont have it yet is cuz im trying not to drop so much into the car at this pt..and the infamous mrev2+spacer i believe adds more power for less than the nismo

I got the Nismo before I put in the 5/16 spacer, and noticed immediately how it mellowed the sound out. So make sure you check out nismos with and without spacers. I still like the sound. It is still nice at WOT or hard acceleration, but at idle it's much more quiet.

MREV+Spacer is a good mod for the general powerband and midrange TQ. Up top from 6500-7000rpm's it will actually pull like a Geo (why I dislike the MREV on the Revup)---> No biggie, just shift earlier. On a budget? Id do a 5/16" spacer (no MREV), resonated test-pipes and a y-pipe. Will be stealth, and will surely pick up some nice midrange and top end.

Brian, high flow cats would be perfect. it will keep that growl you want and add a little pedal power. only set back is those bad boys are almost as much as a nisno exhaust compared to $140 for test pipes.
