Round 2 Skyline Drive Jan 13!!??!!
I got my baby G back and I am down for yet another AWESOME drive! This time I think we should leave a tad earlier to avoid all the local nooners that enter the park for pinics and family time.
http://www.nps.gov/
Proposed Schedule subject to change if there is rain!!!???:
There will plenty of time to exercise you vehicles and heel toe techniques, no need to get tickets going or coming, but you are all adults, do as you wish. I will be running 5mph over until the speed changes from 55mph to 65mph, then I will be running 8-10 over. The first exit to the park off I66 is Exit #13, make a left at the bottom of that exit, then turn right at the next T intersection which is about a half mile down, you speeders can wait for us old farts there if our cruising speed is too slow at one of the gas stations.
Notes:
I66 is the worst State Trooper Road in VA in my opinion. 8 over gets you a ticket when your ride sticks out. I run 60mph with the crusie set.
The restauraunts are closed in the park, please pack something or eat a ton prior to going. Last time I packed a bunch of apples, orangers and granola bars, but didnt find time to communicate that to the group for some quick eats.(too excited on the drive). I will be happy to pick something up for you all, PM me and I will grap it. {No dough, no love, I will eat it later or at work next week..lol }
The park is 10 bucks per car to enter, they do however accept plastic.
Directions to Fair Oaks Mall are I66 West from the I495beltway, exit onto Route 50 West, take first exit (ramp going up). Sears is just after the first stop sign, prior to the stop light.
Please PM if more info is needed. We are awaiting SIAMESE car now , but I am deffinitely going on Saturday January 13th....temp 65!

There is a 100 mile route that is MUCH closer than Skyline. Call it the extended Nurburgring if you will. It starts off in Gainesville and runs along 66, goes out to 50, then to Route 7 for a few miles where you hit another back road that runs along a river and wraps back around to the south meeting up with 211 finally jumping back on to 29 to form a rather large loop. It's a lot better than Skyline and much less chance of the law. Best of all- it's free.

Scattered, but light showers are a possibility for Saturday. So it will be hit and go for the sprinkles, worst case we have to wipe down our cars two or three times...lol. I am a GO for tomorrow for sure.
