Default "IF" I wanted to sell my car where to start?

Guys I have been thinking hard about selling and after talking to jordan parting out seems to be a pain in the *** but seems to bring more $$ back in the pocket but seeing as I have none of my old parts made me think about selling at a set price.

I think kelly posted someplace about taking or adding % of mods spent but not adding labor?

whats a good starting point? If I could get a nice price I would sell if not just keep it. so guess you could call it a feeler?

Still up in the air just starting the thinking process This is not a part out (if it was some guys have fist dibs) I am just trying to see how much I could get as it stands now? SO PLEASE NO PM'S OR POST ON WHO HAS DIBS. If I cant get a good asking price then I will start a thread (if I sell) to start parting out

I don't know if this will help you but with my car, if I were to sell it, I would expect about 30-40% (excluding labor) of all my aftermarket mods if they were to stay on the car.

You would make waayyy more $$$ if you parted the car out-that way you make $$$ on parts and then sell the car with minimal to no mods. Selling a (for example) $30K Z with $30K in mods = $40K asking price and thats if your lucky....

So maybe remove all bolt on mods (wheels, suspension,BBK,all exterior mods (bodykits ect) all sound and interior mods.

sell the car with SC,(all bolt on breathing mods exhaust plenum ect) built motor with tranny upgrades and 3:9 rear.

How would the who payes labor work out? this is going to be a pain in the *** I need to figure out the pros and cons (money wise) between selling as is or parting out.

Whatever the KBB is + $5000 for just the car and built motor, no where near the cost of the motor, but you know how bad mods depreciate You will only get slightly more if you sell to a car enthusiasts, otherwise the mods depreciate the cars value. Taking parts off is very easy, shouldnt be too labor intensive. I doubt anybody would help you with labor cost wise either man, unless you both go to a shop and work something out.

Can the utech be removed and the factory ECU work ok with the new motor?

Offer "Package Pricing"
Untouched "As-Is": 40k
No audio: -1k
No CF Dash: -1k
Install Stock Suspension + Diff: -2.5k
Install Stock Body Panels: -1k
Etc. etc. you get the gist! Therefore you can work something out with the buyer and you guys can come down to a fair price. Buyer gets to keep exactly what he wants, you get the exact dollar amount you want, Mid-A gets the parts that the Buyer didn't want, so in the end: everybody wins!

BTW: PM me about those Zeals when the time comes =)

You might consider eBay to get a feel for price. Often, sellers will list a vehicle with an absurd reserve. The objective is not to sell the car, but just get a feel for demand and price.
