Default Frederick Nissan. I would not go there if I were you!!!!!

I would not take it there. I went there last week for a couple problems in my car.
Problem 1- I have a tranny problem. Makes funny noises. I think I need a new tranny.
Problem 2- My suspension is squeaky. (I think I can fix it with WD-40, but I am not totally sure.)
Problem 3- My engine consumes way too much oil. Over 3 quarts in 3k miles.

First off, when I took the car there 30 minutes later they were done and told me I have no problems with the car. I left to see if I was crazy and to see if I could hear the problems again. So I did. Then I went back to Frederick nissan and asked for the service manager. Spoke to him and he asked me to show him the problems and give him a ride. I showed him the funny noise from the suspension and tranny. He said its my bearings going, and my suspension he was not sure. Also I told him about the oil consumption problem. He told me because I have modifications to my car, it will consume a lot of oil, and its my responsibility to check my oil and make sure it is not low. I was thinking "WHAT AN ***." Also thinking "I do not have enough mods to make it eat 3 quarts of oil in 3k miles."
Anyways, when we got back, he told me he needs to call his nissan Rep to see what he can do about my car and if he can fix it. Well, 6 days later and no calls.

My thoughts on this: Well if they had their "TOP" mechanic look at my car, why did they not see the problems. Also customer service was crap. The lady that I talked to gave me a MAJOR attitude. I really don't know if I will ever go back there.

What do you all recommend? Any other reliable good nissan dealers in the area?

Dude unless your running FI or something there is no reason by
your car should be eating up 3 qts of oil thats BS what year is your
Z and whats mileage?????? Even if you were running some FI I seriously
doubt you should be going through that much oil! I usually put in 1 extra qt in between oil changes, I have a hard enough time believing that a spanking new car should be going through oil when I dont ever really redline it AT ALL.

I always thought Frederick Nissan was one of the more mod friendly dealerships. why don't more dealerships take after the dealerships on the west coast. Quality customer service brings in customers, even if you have higher prices, sometimes it's worth the premium.

Wow-Im shocked to hear this from this "mod friendly" dealer. Doesnt surprise me though, they wanted $1000 just for labor to swap a clutch/fw...good luck on getting that oil consumption checked out. Get it in to a dealer ASAP your time is running out. You should get a new longblock.

Arthur left...don't know who's running it now but I doubt that they are as "mod friendly" as they used to be as Mr. Hickman shut down the custom part of the dealership.

Ask for Kevin Bridges and tell him that I sent you. (Corey Lancaster)..make sure you have all your documentation prior to going. Ask for a print out from the dealership that you been dealing with, although they are all connected..it will be beneficial to have all your records when you show up.

While I dont have any mods on my new car I wanted to add a +1 for the service at Infiniti of Chantilly. Since its right near my new office, I took my car there today for the first service and there is just something about the place that lets you know they really have their sh** together. Much better than my previous dealer (Passport, still good just not near my office) and they pummel Jim Colemans shop. Great facilities and more importantly everyone there was pleasant and things were done on time for the price they quoted.

I am not completely sure...They will be putting on my Vortech, but since they don't have a dyno I will probably have Function Tuned tune the car. Body/Interior work is where they really shine though. Pretty much though, you name it and they can do it(minus the dyno tuning b/c they don't have a dyno yet, or atleast as far as I know).

I'm still under warranty but Dave @ Function:TUNED is the only person that will ever touch my car. Sometimes paying the extra dough to have it done right the first time around is better than wasting gas dealing w/ morons.

that sqeak...does it happen when you are getting in or out of your car? if so, you need to do the TSB on the axle click. i had my clicking axle done and it got rid of that noise also. whatever they grease was making the noise for me. hope this helps!

It happens when I get out of the car, or when the car is moving slowly on a incline or decline. I did have the TSB done on the axle click a long time ago, so its not that. I think I might try using some WD40 and try lubing the suspension. It could be that.

i hear that the axle click is a re-occuring problem, it goes away and comes back. mine didn't do it on the incline or decline...make sure that isn't you breaks. maybe have someone put their head by the wheel well to see if they can pinpoint it. i still think you are describing my former problem
