Default MD MVA Sucks...or does it?

Ok, before I make the above statement - would like to get a clarification.

In say VA or DC or DE, can you get temporary tags/registrayion if you do not have the title?

In MD - if you do not have the title (but have other documents - notarized bill of sale, insurance, license and the car) you cannot get a temp tag till you get the title.

The reason I ask is, I am more than half way thru with the deal. But I need to wait for 10-15 days till the seller makes the payoff and gets the title (which will be then passed on to me).

So near, yet so far.

That has happened to once before, the wait process was longer for the title to get in my hands.

Yeah, that is true. Only thing is it will be LONGER then 10-15 days. If the seller pays the car off that has a lien, the bank with the lien has up to 30 days to release the title. I did the same thing and the start to finish process was around 28 days or so..... so be patient.
