My Z Got Hit By Truck Tire

I'm having the WORST luck with driving... I was driving on I-95 South at around 12:20am. Some truck tire flew by and hit my front end. As far as I can tell, the damages are all cosmetic. The front bumper is chipped up and not crack. God bless polyurethane. The heatshield under the car is totally ripped. The heatshield around the left rim is ripped. Here are some pictures...
Not even a crack... all paint chip. Polyutheran rocks!

Wheel heatshield flew away...

Front bumper came loose.

Side skirt fall out.

I need some advice on how to handle fixing the damage. Insurance? Pay out of my pocket? If I report to my insurance, will my premium go up? My deductable is $500 by the way. Can I get an estimate from a dealership, then take the car somewhere else to get it fixed? I'm thinking.. if I'm gonna go the insurance route, I might as well get a new front bumper.

If you do decide to use your insurance, you want to claim it as a road hazard, meaning, something MOVED into your lane and you hit it. If you hit a stationary object, then they might consider it a collision instead of under your comprehensive insurance. A collision is considered your fault, and is more likely to raise your rates. This was the case for my insurance company, so check with yours, although be careful how you ask. In any case, if the tire flew off the truck and you hit it, you're probably better off if you claim it. The damage is almost certain to be over $500.
In my case, the damage was $900 (swaybar, oil pans, nothing cosmetic) and my deductible is $1000, so I didn't end up claiming it.

The same exact thing happened to me the other day. I hit a retread a truck threw off. I wasn't as lucky. I had a NISMO V2 fiberglass front bumper and it took that bumper right out!. The retread went under the car and came out the side and took out my NISMO side as well. I also damadged some intercooler piping. This all happened on my way home from the body shop after having it installed. Like 30 minutes after leaving. $2,500 in damage.

I wonder if I could just take off the whole side skirt and the front bumper and tell the dealership that they flew off during the impact. That way they will estimate extra money for the parts. It sucks if they don't cover any aftermarket body parts. They should at least look at them as stock parts right? Like if the aftermarket bumper is damaged. They should at least pay the price of a stock bumper?

I estimate the damage to be around $800-$1k. You didn't collide with anything so insurance shouldn't say its your fault...but if you make a claim its hard to say if your insurance will go up. Generally, I think any claims you make with insurance will cause your premium to go up (unless another person collided with you and they had insurance, or a deer hit you) and in the end over the course of 2-3 years you pay for the difference.
My personal experience, my back tires broke loose and I skid into a guard rail. I had similar damage to yours with the front bumper and one headlamp. I had to get a replacement on the headlamp and bumper. I also had to get new shock absorber. I went through insurance and they said it was still my fault. My premium did go up by like 80-100 bucks per 6 months. My deductible was $500 and the estimate was like $1900 roughly.
