So heres the deal guys, I am thinking about simplifying my audio/video system in favor of a high end single din head unit. Don't wanna rip my setup out just yet, but if someone wants it all, I might be tempted to sell it.

I am currently running:
Sony XAV-7w Multimedia Center - Indash flip up screen and radio reciever. XM ready and there is an optional tv tuner out there for this unit too.
Sony XA-114 - Brain/Connection box to easily plug a changer, dvd player, game system, ipod, etc.
Sony CDX757MX 10 Disk MP3 Changer
Icon DVD Player DVD-100 UltraSlim DVD player



Big bright 7 inch widescreen display - Sony quality picture of course



Personally I'm really picky about how my decks are backlit, this few buttons this unit has when closed are red and matches the red Z needles nicely






I have the brain tossed under the seat so I can easily plug and play anything from an Ipod to PS2 - very convient.



I have the changer and dvd player velcroed down inside the glove box so I don't have to drill any holes in the Z - works great, looks clean, and fits fine.


The Bad:
The wire running between the brain and headunit was nicked by the passenger seat slider, but repaired and works fine. The Antena input cable was completly sliced as well and has not been repaired. Should be able to sauder the two ends together. However I still get reception for a handful of stations.

The Good:
About two years ago this was all top notch stuff, $2000+ retail when new I'm sure. Everything works great and hasn't seen much use - great condition overall. Still have all the boxes, manuals, and packaging for all the sony stuff.

Price?

 

IMHO there is a great deal of fluctuation for audio/video prices out there. Using the lowest sold prices I could find on ebay this is what I came up with.

265 - XAV-7w w/ xa-114 connection box (most on ebay are missing the box and the unit is worthless without it)
80 - cdx-757mx
100 - dvd-100

445 Total ~ lowest I could find on ebay without shipping

How about 400 Even for everything.

 

Guess I would consider trades or trades plus cash for a nice CD player.

Really have my heart set on an Alpine unit -- CDA-9835 or CDA-9855 - I know those two have the 512 color changing backlight and Biolight features
