Default Information about headers: help please

I am looking foward to purchase a set of headers for my car but I am undecided on what headers are I guess the most effective? I'm on a kind of tight budget too but would like to know some information before hand so I can purchase a pair in the near future. Thank you.

Strup is nicely priced and pretty effective. Engine doesn't need to be lifted as some others require so you'll also save on labor...

hope that helps

If money is an issue don't bother with headers. Unless you do the labor yourself, you'll most likely spend more putting them in then you will buying them. There are good gains to be had from a plenum spacer or test pipes. If I were you, I'd consider getting one or both of those way before doing headers.

+2? I'd probably do the headers last, and then a ecu tune right after.

Before buying headers, I read other members threads about ease of installation and problems. Then with this information, made a decision.

Is your car already modded or stocker????
I agree with other members here to do that
after you have other mods such as exhaust etc.
headers for our cars don't come cheap btw, they
will put a dent in your wallet but Function Tuned
is a good local shop in Sterling VA

My opinion, and many will diasgree with this. First choice is Crawford headers but they are $1200, 2nd is Nismo headers. If you cant do either of those, I wouldnt spend the $$$....headers on these cars without cams is a worthless mod IMO, my car NA was faster than 99% of other NA cars with good TQ and 107mph trap speed w/stock headers.

I run stock headers as well, the $$ for the gains (and the 6hrs labor) is not worth it IMHO

i think the crawford headers go for $1k now, not including a jet-hot coat. still expensive tho

We have an installed special on the Strups for $850 (headers and labor) which is regulary $1100. The Strups fit well, are reasonably priced and gain great midrange power. At about 4000 rpm they gain 20lb/ft torque which is where you'll use it the most for a street car.
