Default My Official Goodbye Thread

Ok, I'm not really leaving. But NO MORE Z FOR ME!
I absolutely love the Z crowd and I've made some amazing friends here on the forum. You guys have certainly come to my aid in the past when I needed it.

However, I have been talking about getting something else for a long time. I finally picked up this sweet 996 and drove it cross country on the AKA Rally.

I am subsequently selling my Z - I'm probably going to just throw it up on ebay in the next couple days - no reserve.

I'll still throw the boards and if you guys don't mind a porsche tagging along, I'm still interested in coming to meets (as long as they are not in VA)

eh....I missed the Z a little (it's a bit more torquey) but the 911 is so smooth.
Plus, I'm really liking the "back seats".

You can't believe the number of double takes I get too. No one expects to see the likes of me driving that car. lol

No more Z?!??! Tsk Tsk TSSSK!!! However, you can redeem yourself by purchasing an oil cooler for the 996 or coming out to the next wonderful meet in OC, MD for the Funk Master Flex Car Shoooow!

BTW, is that you in the photo?

Awwwww. Is it sold yet? If not you're still a Z owner technically.

Of course you're welcome at the meets. The Porsche looks SICK by the way (even better in person). The wheels are hot. Congrats on the new baby. I know you're loving it.

Abui, yes that is her in the picks. lol

grrrrr... all of these people selling their Zs for other cars is not making my choice to keep mine any easier!

diablesse - was this the same rally as the one BamBam drove in a week or so ago? didn't it start at the salt flats in UT? if so, did you happen to meet sharif or brent while there?

Nowell, you can take the 996 for a spin whenever. I'm surprised we didn't do more car swapping this year.

stormcrow- yes, I did the same rally Brent, Nowell and Driven1 did.
I've known Brent since I met him at a meet sometime last year. Brent and I also did the AKA Rally in 2006 and the 2006 Fall Rally. Once you start you can't stop
I met Sharif out on the flats. He seems like a really good guy.

And yes driven1, I guess I still technically own a Z.

I just spent some time pulling off the clear vinyl off my front bumper. Unfortunately I didn't do the entire thing and it's painfully obvious how sand blasted the exposed areas got. I'm also going to have to repaint the front end. Although, there is next year...

i've been on the fence about selling my Z and building a TT viper for straight 1/4 mile track use only... the Z has lost its lustre... but, the rally sounds like a blast... maybe X-country would be a better plan than just 1/4 mile... and maybe it would renew my interest in my Z... i'll have to get with brent on the details of the rally... unless you'd be interested in PMing me some...

I'll chime in with the rest of the "good-bye chorus"

Sorry to see you go, but that Porsche is pretty hot
I'll be sure to keep an eye out for any more MtV shows if you and your girl with the BMW decide to go rallying again.

Oh and good luck with the Blue crabs stuff...

I am dreading going back to the crabs tomorrow. I am so exhausted!

I doubt we will be doing any more MTV shows. There is a dvd floating around based on the 2006 rally however. I haven't talked to Kelly in months. I know she doesn't have the BMW anymore and she hasn't done any more rallies.
That said, I am in search of another girl to codrive with. They are very difficult to find. Know of any you would trust your tranny to at 120mph+?

Nope and for that matter, I don't know of any I'd trust to even wash/wax my car either
Well anyways, congrats on the new car and good luck on all your future rallys.
BTW, I don't know what all you guys on the forum do for a living (aside from Diablesse and that dude that works the fry machine at McDonalds) to be buying Porsches and Vipers. But Jeez, boy did I make a mistake working for the govt
