Speedtraps
i am surprised noone has started this topic yet...anywhoooots, here goes. add confirmed speedtraps in the nova area. give the approx time when a policeman (local or state) is clocking people, the location and your note(s) of the area.
my contribution is from rt 625 (church street) and between the on ramp to rt 28 northbound to rt 7, between pacific blvd and where the caterpillar tractor shop is located, i saw a state trooper somewhat hidden on the right lane in the grass clocking people.
pulled someone over. who was prolly speeding as i was stopped at the light where the caterpillar tractor dealer and rt 28 meet. this was like sometime between 530pm and 7pm, on my way home. sorry i dunt member the exact time, but thats when i usually head home from work.
keep it clean guys....now your turn.

Yep he hides right under the W&OD trail bridge that goes over rt 28 north bound about once a month.
rt 28 heading south, slow it down about a mile before the exit towards rt 50. They're there atleast twice a week. unmarked and marked, even a unmarked dodge stratus that shoot radar on the exit ramp. acts like his car has broke down.

^^ I am thinking this is the same area as PhiSig mentioned, but different ha
On 66 East, where the 29 HOV on-ramp is, cop sits way up at the top of the ramp. You don't see him at all because you'd have to look behind and up the ramp.

I495 Outter loop between Gallows and Little River. On the left side, there is a large turnabove (authorized vehicles only) spot. Cops catch you coming south on 495 in that left lane (either direction), because it slightly curvers. I have seen them there from 6am in the morning to 3am later that night/next morning.
Also yesterday 430pm headed North on I495 (mixingbowl) toward Tysons. I biker cop was chilling in the left shoulder off his bike with his hand radar. I would of been tagged, however I was merging from I395 South traffic so when I merged onto I495 Tysons (mixing bowl area) he was adjacent to me and pointing down I495. So if you are coming from Vandorn crossing the mixing bowl...watch your butt.
Last one sort of same area, but set up is like the ramp on I66 mentioned above. I495 inner loop between Eisenhower and Vandorn/mixing bowl there is a company service road/ramp area..on the right...cant see the cop because the ramp is behind you...as if they would come down the ramp to merg with you on your right. Busted before you even see the lights.
basically once you cross the Woodrow Wilson bridge the speed limit drops from 55mph to 50mph...that is wear the first cop/ramp area is. If you make it pass him and go under I395 still on I495 the biker cop will nab you. If you make it three more exits to Little River, there is that turn about cop there. I have also seen that biker cop in the small turnabout median just passed the underpass for Gallows.
Cruise control or good luck on I495!!
My 16 cents.

South I395 just before the Edsall Road exit on the HOV ramp when HOV is going northbound. There is a bridge that hides him pretty good until it is too late if you are going about 65. Speed limit on I395 is 55, BUT on HOV, 65. Hate that. I usually crawl by on right hand lane, and then if I don't see the squad car, I roll .
Also, on Hunter Village Drive West Springfield, off of Old Keene Mill. Speed limit is incredibly slow at 25mph. Yikes! Residents have been complaining about how fast drivers go on that road. Apperantly it is being used as a through road from Old Keene to Rolling Rd by slug drivers (commuters) and they park at the end of Hunter Village Drive. The Daventry Slug lot.
Peace!
