Thanks everyone for coming out!
I had an awesome time (even though I was running on about an hour of sleep
) and I really hope all of you did too. We'll be posting up pics as we go along. Also I'll try to get everyone's graphs up. We plan on starting a dyno database here soon. I think it will be really cool to be able to tell what mods seem to make the biggest difference and what type of manufacturing differences we see from car to car.

Dave, any thoughts on what helped him so much? His mods don't seem to be way out off the charts or anything.

Just finished a 05 G35C Non-Rev-Up that put down 289 with headers, intake, exhaust, tp's and and flash (7100RPM Redline). Then it went to put down a CONSERVATIVE 390 at 9psi with a Vortech.
I also just finished a '06 350Z Rev-Up that put down 420 at 9psi with just my starter timing map! I had to detune it to get it to 390.
Then we have umzzz's (sorry man) car who put down 220 at the CP meet then after complete fluid change and plugs (and FunctionTuned logos
) he started at 240ish and ended at 255 (third pull) at the dyno day. I think he has a spacer, exhaust (injen) and intake. Soon to add tp's.To me honestly numbers have begun to lose their value as they do to any tuner. It may be a suprise but I don't even use HP #'s to tune. They only become the delta to measure against for improvements. Ultimately that is what a baseline dyno is for.
Also, since these motors run so close to the edge from the factory (relative to prior years) it seems that gas quality can play a big roll in it. After reading some of the articles about gas production and how it can have a huge margin between good and bad I would suspect that the stock ECU is compensating through the knock sensor. Also the stock ECU has a huge range of control and can still decide to run a more or less aggressive map at any given time.

BOT - I agree that numbers are ultimately BS. I think what's more important on a dyno sheet is the curve and characteristics of the tune itself. I'll take a smooth arc over a jagged epileptic curve any day of the week.
With Corey's car, I know that he beats the **** out of it daily. Perhaps the factory ECU compensates and adjusts the tune based on the driving characteristics? I've heard of factory ECU's that "learn" a driver’s particular habits and adjust accordingly. Maybe the fluctuation that we're seeing is a result of that. Again, just a humble guess. Tuning is something I have yet to fully wrap my head around...

In my case, since I don't daily drive my car much, and when it is driven its usually at a track/auto-X (i.e. alot of full-throttle) ... it may explain my 266whp reading on a bone stock engine (ok, I lied...I have a k&n drop in panel filter).

Its good to know the only thing downgraded on my dyno sheet was the make of my vehicle...ROTF LMAO!
