I've been researching cams all day!I found that the nismo r-tune cams 262, and so are the jwt s7.I also found that the crower to be 272,but thats a little much, but i cant find what the stock lift and duration is anywhere.I want to build this car for auto x so the mid-high range power is a must! What do you guys think?

Cam # Adv. Dur. Dur @ .050 Lift (in) Lift (mm)
350Z 256°/256° 208°/208° .375"/.375" 9.52/9.52

Brian crower cams have a 264 lift, and probably the best price out there

If you want an autox car I would think you would want low to mid high 272+? I auto cross all the time and its the low end torque that gets you out of the corners.

My two cents.

JWT cams have better midrange with sliightly less top end (6000+rpm's) compared to BC, GTM cams...

Not at all!!!

when people say you lose top end...just look at reality and dyno sheets...you start losing power before 6000 rpm anyways and who drives at 150+.

Id rather get to 100 faster shifting at 5800 than to shift at 6250 to top out at 160mph.

Id go agressive, especially if you want to build the N/A beast. even if you go FI, they wont hurt you enough to make a diff.

why not spend a fraction of that amount, install a good LSD and prolly get about the same results for what you are looking to do?

edit: that install price seems awfully steep. According to AllData Online, to replace both banks should be around 14.7 hours total R&R time. Most shops I assume around 95.hr to install puts ya at 1400.00 for labor.

for the amount it costs to get cams installed, get a forged performance stage 1 short block for around 3300.

stock lift and duration: measures 238° duration, 9.2 mm lift (Intake), and 240°, 9.2mm lift (Exhaust).

You are going to be severly limited in top end power by your headers, and the sheer lack of cams out for revup motors. If you must have a cam now, only JWT makes them
