One 12" in a proper enclosure is plenty in a Z.

just so you know no matter how expensive ur set up is if its not matched up correctly it will sound like crap. The most important thing is the box because it determines how hard the bass will b and how clear, and try not to underpower ur subs, the best bet would b to get an amp fir each sub and component speakers that can keep up with the crazy bass from the subs. I had a alpine/pioneer set and it sounded amazing, my type R subs cracked my back window twice.

I'll probably go JL with a JL 1/500, and run a separate amp for my components and rear speakers

im in the area too is you want to hear my setup lemme know
didn't see this post earlier today...i actually recommended your setup to him earlier because i thought mine was overkill. after hearing your sub, it much deeper than i thought 1 10 would be.

2 10s + 800w = sweet, but overkill

Custom 12" under strut FTW:

Notes:
The louder you play your music and the more bass you boom, the more women you shall attract. (preferribly hardcore rap)

You can hear mine if you want. I went with a 6.5 kickpanel setup I made and a single 10 in a zenclosure from mike. Amp mounted behind drivers seat, and no rear speakers.
