Default New Audio Goodies Arrived!

Well, I bit the bullet and snatched up a nice set up the other day (off of the forum). It got here today!

First things first, whats up with DHL? Do they normally knock on the door, or just drop it and run? I was checking the tracking number, and it said delivered over 2 hours ago. Sure enough I walk outside and see it sitting in my driveway.

But anyway, I'm excited to put it in! Anu2g and I plan on tackling it, and if anybody else wants to help, feel free to volunteer!

500w mono amp, 4 x 111 rms amp, zenclosure, type r 10, pa capacitor, and the zenclosure amp rack

Thats about all I need. I've got a line on some Kappa Perfects, and I'll probably go with door pods (if I can justify spending the money on them). I've got some infinity coaxials to go in the rear for filler. Should be nice when done!

What he said.

Glad to see you got such a good deal on everything A1C Basinger. I recommend getting an amp installation kit from Best Buy or Circuit City. The one I used from Best Buy was made by Rockford Fosgate and came with fuse/distribution blocks. The latter is a must for multi amp and cap hook ups.

Well, I did just sign up for the Best Buy credit card yesterday (bought a new TV) so I might just have to swing by and see what they've got

I'm guessing one Amp will have to be flipped upside down, so the hook ups will all be facing the middle, is that the easiest thing to do?

Mount the power distrubution blocks to the bottom of the amp rack and run the wires up through the board. I wouldn't mount either amp upside down... it'll look funny.

Not to mention, amps are NOT meant to be mounted upside down because they will not be able to properly dissipate heat.

I don't think he was planning on mounting the amp upside down with the bottom of the amp facing out. What he meant was the word "Infinity" would not be right side up on one of the two amps. That way the power inputs would be next to each other.

nah..we'll just drill holes under the amp, and run the wires under the amp and then through the amp rack. the dblock can be mounted on the flipside of the amp rack. actually, u don't even really need a dblock. u can just use the capacitor as the dblock if u want.

i built ones for my car out of metal strapping...the only tools i used were a hammer, a c-clamp, and a hack saw. the result was great...the efficiency was not.
