(Rev up v1/v2)

If your Z is 2006 or above then its a "Revup" model.
2005 and below are the "non revup". Unless your you
have a 2006 or up you really dont need to worry about
oil consumption, but you never know. I would just keep
an eye on it as 2005 was also listed as possible for having
problems.

I have an 06. Are there some that actually don't have this problem?

Cool... I was afraid that the claim didn't get opened, because I was late in sending the paperwork in. Been out of town dealing with a family emergency.

I'm relieved to hear it's still moving forward. I'll let you know what happens, when I hear from them.

I have an 05 35th, I'd also like to know this, and I'd like to know around what mileage this starts to occur at.

Doesn't occur at any given mileage, if you check your oil on a regular basis you will notice that the level seems to be dropping, some are worse then others but I would suggest just checking your oil at regular intervals. TSB states that it affects some 05's I believe, mostly aimed at the 06 mt's.

UPDATE

Finally, got the car back and seems to be running fine. I don't remember the car being this smooth since when I first bought it back in 6/06
It seems that the dealer has installed long block engine, which is what I was told they were gonna do anyways. My only concern is that it's the V2 model not V3, I guess I will find out in a few thousand miles if the problem continues. My only other gripe is that going from 4th to 5th now seems to grind a bit blah !

here is the part number for engine: 10102-AC7MZ (known as V2)

Ok, so I finally got a hold of the BBB today. They said that Nissan is offering to replace my engine, with one that does not have an oil consumption issue. They will also give me a rental car for the duration of the repair period. After the repair is made, if I find that the repair is still unsatisfactory, I must contact the BBB, within 60 days of the completion of the repairs, to further attempt to resolve the issue.

The BBB said that Nissan will be calling me, to schedule the repair, and setup the rental car.

Hey man congrats! I just my car back about 3 days ago and its running great, for some reason it feels stronger on the low end.......weird. Anywho make sure you keep an eye on the oil level after they change your engine.

Ok, engine is on order. The dealership called today to let me know. I'm gonna call them tomorrow and see if I can get the part number from them. Just to make sure I'm getting the correct engine, and not the same one again.

They said they'll call again, to setup an appointment, once it comes in. Said I'm looking at about 4 days turn-around time.

Update

Engine is in... sitting at the dealership. Service Manager scheduled me for 14 April, to bring the car in. Said he's gonna be out, on vacation this coming week, and wants to personally oversee the work, so it'll start when he gets back.

Btw ask if they have any specs on the motor you are getting, I am assuming they are giving you the V2 engine, ask for paperwork on the motor. They wouldn't give me jack !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL, I'll see if I can get some specs on the motor. Based on the part number I saw on the order form... yes, it's the V2.

Question... When you got your engine replaced, did they do anything to your warranty? I'm looking to ask them to extend it, since I already have 36K on the car... My warranty is good out to 75K but since a new motor is going in, shouldn't it start at 0 again? Thanks.

lol... yeah they aren't going to replace that motor. If you take off the kit maybe.

Usually for service bulletins you don't need to be under warranty.

Think its worth getting a new motor. Probly cost over 4.5k to take it off and put it all back on... if not more.. motor has 48k miles on it.

Geez, took all day, just to remove an intake, and an engine damper ... Still have to remove the plenum spacer, so I can turn the car in on Monday. Guess I'll do that tomorrow.
