Default So long Mid-A Z community

I wanted to say farewell to the Z community as I sold my Z a few weeks ago. NOVA guys may see it running around up there now, actually since its new owner lives in Stafford. This particular section of the forum has been very helpful over the years... with Alterred Atmosphere doing early NA tuning on the car, then Function Tuned doing the turbo install and tuning, I picked up my turbo kit here, and even picked up a free lip from a member on here. So, thanks guys... it was fun!

Here's what sits in my garage now It's a 1994 Mazda Rx7 R2 model. It's not NEARLY as driver-friendly, comfortable, and as smooth as my Z was..... but it's alot of fun on twisties, incredibly cheaper taxes and insurance for me, and helps eliminate monthly payments with a wedding and house nearing my future!!!!

- Fully built Atkins 13B rotary motor with 3mm apex seals (~4k miles)
- Full Greddy T78 single turbo kit - installed and tuned by Ray Wilson at PFSupercars - 16psi put down 374whp/320tq
- EVO-r HIDs w/ 8000k bulbs
- Full TEC3 Standalone ECU and Ignition conversion (PF Supercars)
- Chromoly Axles and solid rear-mount differential bushings
- 4 point custom roll cage done by PFSupercars
- Full 3" straight exhaust w/mid pipe resonator
- HKS Catback
- Short Shifter
- 99 Spec Tail Lights
- HKS SSQ BOV
- Greddy (I believe) Watercooled Wastegate
- Manual Boost Controller
- PFSupercars gauges (Boost and Water Temp) on column
- Stage 4 6-puck Ceramic Competition clutch and SRmotorsports lightened flywheel
- Greddy intercooler with air induction vent in bumper
- Optima Yellow top Battery relocated to behind the passenger seat
- H&R Sport Springs and Shocks

Very nice! congrats on the new toy, it looks like a hot car! make sure that when you race, you don't blow the NOS too soon, thats how Vin would win.

Awesome 7 man. I hope it doesn't over heat or blow up, keep an eye on those vac lines and apex seals. None the less, I love those cars, so sexxxy, but it def takes a purest to own one.

I would too, if Peter Ferrell was my live in mechanic. A Z might not have the lines or rarity of an FD but atleast with the Z you know it will be virtually problem free for 100k

Nice 7. Where did you pick that up? How $$$ if you don't mind me asking? Did it really change the insurance price that much?

I know its not going to be as reliable as the z was... but thats ok, i have a daily. the boost is currently set at 13lbs and i dont plan on raising it unless i get a streetport.... so hopefully i wont have any major issues.

To answer some quesions, i picked it up for 23k from someone i knew locally and honestly think it could have gotten at least 26k with all the mods it has and the fact that it has a fresh motor, only 70k on the body, and its a R2! My insurance decreased from 120/month to 60/month!

So long, but I don't think most of us will mind if you bring that beautiful beast out to play every once in a while.

Actually, I think there's a VAST majority of us who would like to check it out in person. It looks great man. CONGRATS!
